    I am considering buying this TV 2nd hand and simply researching some of the potential repair cost. Are these "THREE PICTURE TUBES" available and if so what is the approximate cost?

    Be aware set has built in error code: if power light comes on and stays on--common problem.

    If power light blinks sequence of either 3 or 5 blinks each has common reasons.

Their manual says:

After lamp replacement, you must reset the lamp
time. Refer to the instructions enclosed with the

Lamp reset on a panasonic model pt-50lc14-k
This works for mos Panasonics

Turn on Power
Pres and hold the "vol-" button on the front of unit and the "split" key on the remote together for over 5sec.

Screen should say " Lamp time was reset to 0"

Blue/Green on edges of Panasonic HDTV CT-36HX42
rear projection TV is light emitted and therefore can be fixed by a lamp replacement. I know the replacement's can in some cases be more expensive than a new model. Search the web for lamp replacement based on your TV model to get an idea.
