I like to use the blue wire and the blue/white wire for one side - blue/white connected to wire with black trace>

Do the same with red and red/white on the other side.

Use green for the wall control.

Hope this helps

I have a complete garage (sheetrock & wiring already installed). im trying to install a garage door opener. there are 3 wires on the garage ceiling (1 for the wall control, 2 for the photoeyes). but...

Get a continuity tester at Home depot. First, make sure all the conductor wires are separated from each other. Strip back a 1/2" insulation on each conductor (both ends).
Start with the wires at the wall control wire location. Twist the stripped
bare wires together. Now go on the ladder where the 3 cables are
and "ring" out that conductor with the continuity tester. Once that cable is found, tag the wire identifying it as the controller.

Did you install the door sensors? If you did, make sure the light on each one is lit and not flickering. Double check your wiring. Make sure you connected the wires from the door sensors correctly. They are color coded.

I have pre wiring in my garage for the opener which has white, red, blue, green wires. The opener came with red, white for the control and black white for the sensors. How do I connect four wires from prewirng...

The opener actually needs 6 wires. They gave you 4. It depends on where the wires end as to what you can do. A good imagination will help. I personally would install it with the wires furnished with the opener.

I have tried this, and my suggestion is to go back and get the proper wall jack. How much are headaches worth to you? If they are worth more than the wall plate, just **** it up and get the correct one.

Providing modem output to house addition

Looking at the image in the link below, your computer only uses the orange pair and the green pair. You could break out the blue pair and brown pair and actually run 2 separate phone lines through this cat5e cable also. For reference this image is shown with the end of the plug facing you. The only issue I see with this is to make sure you know which 4 wires you are using in the 12 wire cable and connect the orange pair and green pair to the same wires on both ends. (Do the same with the blue pair and brown pair for your phone line.) If you need any further assistance please feel free to contact me.

Do you have the manual? You have to program the wireless remote. Not sure of the exact procedure on this model, but the manual will explain it. If no manual let me know, Countrycurt0
