You should probably replace the battery using a new CR2016 battery. Let the watch set a while without the battery to help it reset. WR 100m just means the watch is "Water Resistant to 100 Meters". Then use the following info. Timex has two ways to find information about your particular watch. Some of these models only have a guide consisting of a few pages. If you don't have the manual, Try this link:
Now, look up the model number, or if you cannot find that, check the three-digit Module Number from the back of the watch. Click on it in the Module Table, and download a PDF of your watch setting-instructions/manual.
If you need further help, call Timex in Little Rock, Arkansas, phone 1-800-448-4639. I hope this helps you. Thanks, Bill
buy a Casio wrist watch at KMart for around $17.00. They last five years, then the
band breaks and you buy a new watch. I timed the traffic signal system of our city for 20 years from a Casio wrist watch. Now in retirement, I have a Time Expedition which has several alarms which I do not need, and can't turn off. We change the time twice annually, so having alarms and chimes go off without warning ca bve a nuisance.I found some instructions on a website which shows how to turn the alarms off.
My son's watch (WR 50M) broke... so I have a strap, if you'd like it. He loved this watch and it would cost about the price of a new one to repair, so I'm buying him a new one. He's had the same watch for years... bless, huh? If you anywhere I can purchase another WR 50M - 1440 Timex, I'd be most grateful.
That spring is called COIL SPRING and it transmits the signal from the microprocessor to audio membrane fixed to caseback. This is how you hear all the beeps, alarms, e.t.c. Examine watch movement and you should fine small hole (it can be even marked with an arrow and writing: COIL SPRING). Fit that coil spring in to the hole and close the caseback. If you hear no sound, you fitted it in the wrong hole, so, refit the coil spring till you find the right hole and hear the beeps.
I second the vice advice...the only thing that worked was to put it in a vice and crank it one more crank then you think is possible. You will hear a little "pop" when it snaps into place. It was the only thing that worked!
It's very difficult. You have to take the decorative link covering off first, then continue with the actual stretch band by following these directions.
