I have a cd-rw/dvd-r. my driver read cd but it can't read dvd.

how does a CD_RW drive read a dvd anyways unless it is a CD-RW DVD-ROM drive and in that case you should try reinstalling the device driver

It seems that what you have is a combo drive only :(
it only recognize DVD reading. no matter what driver you used. need to buy a dvd writer/ that said can write dvd.

You have to download aspi drivers and force aspi18. I had the same problem and this solved it!

if u got a cd with ur DVD RW u neet to install the drivers and then reboot the pc

1. go to device manager / right click on cd drive / uninstall driver / reboot and windows will reinstall driver 2. go to My computer right click on cd drive properties - check digital cd playback recording - check enable cd recording on this drive driver - update or uninstall reboot your computer Goodluck!
