The TV is not the problem, if you have the parts to attach to the TV, and the screws that come with it, there is only one position that fits the support base on the TV, but the other part, I mean, the way that the support base is attached to the wall, I strongly recommend to find a Handy man who can do that job because must be a solid and deep surface in order to avoid the TV drop itself in any moment.

How do I install a tv on my wall

First of all find out what size mount is on the TV. On the back of the TV you should see 4 screw holes to take the bolts of the stand. You can measure the space between the holes. Then you can search for a mount that will take that size. If the TV is big you will need a very strong wall mount.
When you get the mount it should have instructions for mounting it. But make certain the wall you are fixing it to can take the weight and is stable. Fix the mount to the wall, make certain that you use the correct screws and plugs for the screws. You should be able to tell if the mount is secure enough. If you have any doubts, get somebody in to do it. The mount will come with the correct fixing screws for the TV. You will need two people at least to fix a smaller TV to the wall and two people to hold a big TV while a third screws the mount to the TV.

Hi, we have just bought a second hand Hitachi Hi Plasma TV Model PD1, 42PMA400A. We have a wall bracket but what we'd eally like is a stand ... the base plate and two stems that go into the bottom of...

If you search on Ebay for your TV's exact model number, sometimes you can find a replacement stand for it there from someone who has their TV mounted to the wall and is no longer using it. These are normally fairly heavy and bulky items, so Ebay purchase prices and shipping costs can vary widely.

I did not see any for your exact model of TV available there when I looked, but the online selection changes daily, so you can always keep checking back. Just search on Ebay for 'HITACHI TV STAND' or 'HITACHI TV BASE' and you will see a wide variety of them available for different Hitachi TV models as well as what the average price for them is.
Otherwise you can just buy a generic wall mount floor stand for around $100 which bolts to the TV like a wall mount, but actually sits on the floor instead of being bolted to the wall.

Here are some links to a few different models currently available on Ebay which include pictures so you can see what I mean:

Took it off the wall of the camper we just bought. Would like to use it in my guest bedroom, but the stand is gone. Can you help locate one for me?

If you search on Ebay for your TV's exact model number, sometimes you can find a replacement stand for it there.

Here is a link to one example currently available for an Emerson TV:

How do I take the stand off of the TV? (For wall mounting)

There will be clips or screws on the back of the TV which will need to be removed and the base stand will slide out of the bottom of the TV. Do NOT start taking screws out of the back of the TV without the wall mount with instructions. Sometimes there are spacers that need to be used with the wall mount and generally only four screws need to be removed from the TV. The TV should have instructions on how to prepare the TV for a wall mount as well. All are different, but very similar to do. If you lay the TV face down on a soft surface (do not slide it around) you probably can see what screws need to be removed to remove the TV base. Keep the screws with the stand for later use if desired because you will need them to re-install the case later. Here are two examples;

How do i attach a Wall Mount to the TV?

I have the same TV, and I bought a mount with 4 connector holes. I was able to connect 3 of the 4 and it has been fine as the TV does not weigh too much. The TV was not designed with the current mode of either wall or stand mount. It was just intended for stand. I have had it on the wall for over 2 years.
