Hi,
I found your email online I hope you can answer my question.
I have an Admiral Capacity Plus washing machine Model number LNC6760B71.
During the spin cycle it makes a very load hum almost like an airplane engine getting ready for take off. I suspect it is the bearing in the transmission going out. If this is the case it looks like a major pain to change out. A couple of things how hard is it to just replace the whole transmission? Two the machine is about 4 ½ years old. It looked like some of this maybe covered under a warranty, do you know if this could be?
Thanks a bunch in advance.

How did that answer get an 83% rating? It is absolutely useless. My washer has the exact same problem as described above.During the spin cycle it sounds like a jet engine. It kinda sounds like the belt hitting the drive wheel but may be bearings in the motor.
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

It is not a thumping sound and the cloths are nto out of balance. It is a loud hum.
Thanks

Maytag Altantis sound likes it is ready for take-off. The hum becomes progressively louder and it seems as though the spin cycle is really cranking up. I've nursed the machine through the spin cycle by opening the lid, thus stopping the spin, and then closing the lid to finish out the load. When the unit is empty I can pull and push the tub from side to side quite easily. Any ideas on what I should look for when I open tear apart the machine? Thx
My Atlantis makes a sound during the spin cycle too and also during the wash cycle. it is about 6 years old. I d ont want to hear to re adjust the clothes. If it is a bearing, can a hack maechani like me fix it. If it is a belt, again can I repair it. Where can I get a schematic of the machine?
