When I push the start button on my washer it doesn't start only click.

HOLD THE LOCK BUTTON FOR 10 SECONDS

insert the key into the slot then step on the brake and keep it depressed, then push the start button. when it starts to crank release the button.

Check the door lock.

door lock is the first place I would start. If it keeps doing it after the lock checks good, then it would have to be the control board.

I have a LG WM2016CW and after I washed a med. rug none of the lights on panel wwould not work but it did ding when I pushed the start button. so after reading other solutions one said something about checking the door switch so I tried washer n woulnd'nt work so I opened the door and pushed on the door switch and it started. thank you I hope this works for u...

Unplug the machine for at least half an hour to eliminate the possibility of an electronic glitch. Then upon plugging in back, close the door then push CONTROL/ON (if present on this model). Select the DRAIN/SPIN cycle then select NO SPIN by pressing the SPIN SPEED button. Push PREWASH OPTION four times within five seconds. If PREWASH OPTION is not present on this model, press EXTRA RINSE four times within five seconds. C:00 will light up on the display. If the Starting procedure fails, push the PAUSE/CANCEL button then repeat the starting procedure.

In order to advance to the next step of the test procedure, push PREWASH OPTION button two times. If PREWASH OPTION is not present on this model, press EXTRA RINSE two times. The test program goes from C:00 to C:08 and should flash an error code when a problem is present. Post the code back for further troubleshooting, including the exact model number of the machine.

Since the door locks and then unlocks - I am afraid it is the circuit board at fault. It just doesn't sound like a fault with the door interlock system.

See whether water is flowing into the wash machine. Then the door close switch.

Your Door switch is faulty or, out of adjustment

Unplug the washer for 10 min. This will reboot the circiut board. Select one cycle. Selecting too many cyles in a short period or pushing too many buttons in a short period can overwelm the little brain in the board.
