  1. Right click on the My computer>select Manage
  2. One Window will pop up, select device manager. on the right side you will see the hard ware list.
  3. Go to Network adapters, expand the tab.
  4. Select the wireless wifi link, double click
  5. On the pop up window, in the GENERAL tab whether device is enable or not.
  6. If enable then go to Driver tab, update the driver.
  7. If still not working neew to check your hardware physically. for this better go to a service centre.

I have ASUS X51H Notebook, but I have problems connecting to wireless network. The computer works on Windows 7 OS. I have tried all known solutions on the internet, but still didn't succeed to properly...

I first wanted to turn it on through Atheros Client Utility, but the "enable radio" button was disabled for clicking, so I tried the integrated Windows solution and that didn't work.

Then I reinstalled Windows and all the drivers and Atheros AR5006EG is recognized, but I can't get it to scan wifi networks.

FN+F2 doesn't do anything, the wireless button next to the Power button also doesn't do anything, and the button light is off. It is suspicios to me that the Zzz light (for sleep mode) is always on, even when the computer is running fully.

What do I do?

Check the UTP cable or the lan cable.
Check the RJ45.
Check for operating system firewall.
Check for antivirus firewall.

If you are connecting two computers you need a cross wired LAN. moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.png
Set each computer for IP address.

I bought a new laptop from Dell. My old on is a desktop from Dell. I have a Belkin transfer cable. It is asking for a transfer key number. what is that????????

Please note that your cable will support below givne O/S check at your end.

One destination PC running Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit) and available USB port

One source PC running Windows® XP (32- or 64-bit) or Windows Vista® (32- or 64-bit) and available USB port

For Example two Pcs 1 is Xp and other pcs is Windows 7, then try to connect between both .

Another one more option is there for transfering the data between two systems either laptop or Desktop by a cross cable (LAN CABLE), buy a cross cable from shop and insert into RJ45 Socket (i.e lan socket) the try to transfer the datas.

How do I get my HP Pavilion N5150 to recognize my modem for roadrunner internet.? I don't know what kind of external modem it is, DSL or cable, but from what I understand I should just be able to plug...

If the modem connect to a coaxial cable its cable, if connect to a RJ11 aka Telephone cable is DSL. Most of the modems connect the computers via RJ45 aka Cat5 or network cable. For this type of connection you do not need drivers.

If the computer not connect to internet, check for the NIC card driver in COntrol Panel. If the drivers are good, then open the command prompt (go to START | Run.. | Type cmd and press ENTER) and type ping 127.0.0.1, if you not have a success the network card is bad. If successfull...

Type ipconfig, if you have return IP of 169.254.x.x then your computer is not getting an IP. reset the router and check again.

When type ipconfig you have to display one of these IP address . 1) 192.168.x.x 2) 172.16.x.x 3)10.0.x.x. If you cant connect check for third party software installed.

How to connect 2 PC at a time one of the PC has internet connection i want to communicate both PC I have windows XP sp2?

You can use hub for that matter. Use RJ-45 Cables (Crossover) for connecting just two computers and connect each unit with the cable inserted from your cpu to the hub. To create an RJ45 local area network in Windows, you will need: Several computers running Windows (computers running two different versions of Windows can be part of the same network);
Ethernet cards on a PCI or ISA port (with an RJ45 plug) or built into the motherboard. When applicable, make sure the diodes on the back of the network card light up when the computer is on and that a cable is plugged in.

Which 1 to use

If it is a RJ-45 connector yes you can use it, The landline uses a RJ11. If the cale fits in the connector then it is a RJ45 connector and you can use this connection. If it works with your internet connection take the netwotk card you bought back. Hope this helps.
