You might be able to find a stripped down version of XP or put Windows NT on it. Those are my best guesses. NT will let you use newer versions of some browsers as well. Mostly Explorer

Well it should work on all the computers.
There might be some problem with the wireless connection.
You said the wireless works on all the other computers . that means the wireless router is working fine.
If your wireless network is secured then make sure that you have the correct network key / password.
Check the IP address on your wireless computer . Is there any static IP address on the computer.

yes look first try to reinstall the operating system if the problem is still your harddrive must be crashed

You will need to buy a wireless USB device for your laptop unless your model has a WLAN already on the mobo.

I suggest either a Netgear or Belkin 54g thet will come with drivers and if you know your WEP key for your wireless enabled router the rest is easy just search for available networks find you SSID and input the WEP code.

Most Wireless Routers by LinkSys, D-Link and NetGear are pretty good and stable. Personally, have tried LinkSys WRT54G (as a repeater), WRT300N and NetGear MR814.

Make sure the WiFi is activated, and that the wireless is not disabled.

When you go into network, is the wireless network there?

You didn't mention which windows you are using, I have XP Sp2 and have had the same problem this week in fact except I have a dlink router. So assuming you have XP Sp2 then try this patch it should solve your problem.
