I have checked on the ION home page they have the Vista drives, but not Windows 7. The link is below. Give the Vista drivers a try, if it does not work let me know and I will dig a bit deeper.
Windows Vista is a very demanding Operating system when it comes to system resources and it doesnt come as a shock to hear that you computer runs warmly, If you werent experiencing any problems when you had windows XP installed, I would suggest downgrading to Window XP, otherwise wait for October 22 and purchase a genuine copy of Windows 7 and use that.
Was there any other OS loaded prior to your attempting to load Vista? If so you heed to do a clean install of Vista. The problem with Vista is that it does not accept any drivers other than those already present in its driver database. First check if the component is Vista compatible, if not install a software to run the device(separate). First of all confirm that ur PC is compatible with Vista OS. These diagnostics are available at microsoft "vista upgrade adviser" site.......sodeep
