Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

My fuji finepix s5000 has lost power

see this causes and proceed . God bless you
If the camera won't turn on, check the batteries, or connect the camera to an AC adapter. If that doesn't work, remove all batteries, disconnect the AC adapter, wait a minute, reinsert batteries and reconnect the adapter.
If the flash doesn't work, the camera won't take pictures, or the screen keeps turning off, check that the batteries are strong.

Machine stopped mid cycle, won't spin or did not drain, no error code displayed, tried unplugged and restart. no luck

next time send the model number, open the door, look around the opening where you put the clothes in and you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers,it has to drain first before it will spin, check the pump, get a shop vac and vac out all the water, remove the bottom panel and look at the pump,if the middle of the pump can be removed turn it counter clockwise slowly until the water starts to leak out and vac it up until all the water is out, then remove the middle part of the pump and clean it out,if the middle doesn't come out remove the hoses and check the pump to see if anything is in it and check the hoses, after you remove any debries you find fill it with some water and put it into a drain to see if the water drains,if it doesn't you can check the pump again to make sure you cleaned everything out, stick your finger in and fell around the impellar to make sure it's clear,if it's clear replace the pump.usually an error code will come up but if it fills and agitiates but won't drain i would start at the pump.hope this helps.

The lens won't come out - it makes a buzzing noise but won't open. Like it's jammed?? Olympus FE-46

Hi.

This error indicate that focusing ring got stuck or jammed. What you can try to do is spray some compressed AIR into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have worked its way in. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.

or.......
You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.
Else your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center.
Good luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

My Canon Powershot SX120is camera was dropped on a high school gym floor. Since then it hasn't turned on. I think the battery connections on the little battery door are damaged, since you can tell...

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

My sony digcam lens is stuck.. it just make some annoying sound but it doesn't close completely or open at all. it just say off and open ur cam.. how can i fix this? it fell 4 feet high.. but it...

Hi.

The drop has cause internal damage to the moving parts of the camera. The shock of the camera hitting the floor will have caused this.

The cost of the repair will differ depending on the damage caused by the drop.

You can get a quote directly from Sony by clicking on the link below or you can take the camera to a certified repair store.
