I have an Amana Dryer Model # LGD20AW and when the dryer is first turned on the glow plug will heat up and ignite the gas but as the dry cycle continues the glow plug will heat up but no flame will ignite...

The glow coil or glow bar heats up and a sensor on the side reacts to the heat and then sends a signal to a gas valve.(solenoid valve) When the gas doesn't ignite when the coil is glowing... here are some reasons. 1. The sensor on the side of the burner assembly isn't working or sending power to the valve. 2. The valve is getting power but not opening. 3. The ignitor is not glowing hot enough to activate the flame sensor. Usually it is the sensor or the igniter not the valve.

The igniter glows but nothing else happends

for one thing, the glow plug may not be glowing hot enough, to light burner. if glow plug does not heat up like it should, then gas will not come out. have glow plug checked.

My gas dryer is not heating up I checked to see if any flames is on when its running but its not coming on the timer is turning.what needs to change

All gas dryers have a gas module. The older models (very old) have a pilot light and the new ones have what is called a GLOW PLUG and it is made out of ceramic. If this glow plug is in any way broken, you will not have any heat. The GLOW PLUG is what comes on when you first turn the dryer on and it GLOWS until the gas module actually spits out a small amount of gas and an internal combustion occurs and the flames come on full power and this is what dries your clothes. If the GLOW PLUG is fine, then the gas module could be bad. ALSO, Always check for burnt wires and check any thermostats or fuses internally in the unit.

Kenmore 80 series gas dryer has not heat

most of these dryers have a little plastic plug on the front, left side. pop that plug out and look inside after turning it on. you should see a red glow. if not, then your ignitor has broken. if you see a glow, then the problem is probably one of the two little coils on the gas valve. these coils will sense if there is something to light the gas [the red glow] and open the valve - if the coils are bad, they won't open the valve

I have a whirlpool dryer will not heat

Either the glow bar is weak or the valve coil is failing. Measuring the amp on the coil is the only way to be sure. If the burner lights once in a while it is most likely the coil,

My kenmore dryer does heat up all the time.

After the glow plug starts glowing a sensor detects this bright glow and turns on the gas which will be ignited by the glow plug and you have flames.

So, it could be this sensor or in the gas valve solenoids. You will need an OHM meter to check this.

No heat

Check the glow plug.
Take off the bottom front panel, push the start button and look for a red glow. This glow plug is about the size of your little finger and is hard to see when it's off but you will see a red glow if it's working. No glow, replace the glow plug.

If it glows for a few seconds then goes out then the solenoids on the gas valve should be checked with an OHM meter.
