Yes I have this same problem. The picture will fade to green then cut off or flash green and cut off. I've had this problem for over a year know is there anything sony can do to fix this. I spent slot of money on a product that is to be a great company. Thanks

Same problem here. The tv does not cut off, though. We can still hear the program, it is just all green.

HI - same deal- flickers green with line and then shuts off by itself. My hubby trying to fix it himself. It seems to help and works for a while if we shut the TV and let it cool down. Has anyone at all solved this problem yet?

There may be several causes but, one is that when any color gun is being over driven, the Sony shuts down the gun to protect it. Try this. Remove the front of the set by removing the two screws from each lower corner. Next remove the black panel held on by 5 or 6 screws. Now you should see a panel with 6 potentiometers on it. Turning the ones on the bottom row CCW reduces the drive. Turn the color down and if all the guns stay lit, SLOWLY turn them up until you get the color balance that you like.

I did the same to mine. Readjusted the power voltage to each gun. Before we could plug up the red gun power, picture would look perfect absolutely perfect for about 15 sec, then it would go solid red. Now it looks perfect again !

Thanks to all who suggested redoing the power voltage to each gun !

Same thing was happening to ours...
Open the back.... With the TV on we tapped on the black rim of the green tube in the back and then it flickered several times. The tv stayed on though for once so we left it for 2 hours or so and tapped several times again and the green tube kept flickering really bright and turned off I think. We turned it back on and it worked fine - amazing - we were about to haul it to the trash!
