You can't use bluetooth to connect the PS2 to the internet. If you have the old PS2 model you need the ethernet adapter that sits on the back. The PS3 Slim has built-in ethernet.
Also, you can't access the net (surfing etc). You can only use the internet for online games (SOCOM etc).
It seems like the mod-chip is not letting DNAS clarify the load. Don't use the mod chip man, I play SOCOM Online and I hate it when people use those...just play fair. It will work if you don't use the mod chip.
I recommend just going to get a Logitech USB Hedset at wal-mart, but it will set you back 30 bucks. I have Socom 3 and Socom Combined assualt, it works on both without having to use a setup disc, just plugin and play!
It isnt a problem with your console but a problem with your interenet and explain the problem to their technician. Are you using a broadband connection?
The usb ports on the ps2 can be used for a keybord with games like everquest online or a headset with games like socom, i'm sure there are other uses for them also but thats the only ones i can think off of the top of my head.
