The copier never reaches the "ready to copy" state.

Try this as a temporary work around, power on the iR while holding down the STOP key.
This may boot the iR to a ready state and copies can be made.

While its' printing or copying the wattage used is about 380w. Just in the Ready state is 14w Power Save mode is 9w

I believe you hit the go button once when it is in a ready state and it will print a configuration sheet with the number of copies printed.

This is your pre-heat or energy save mode light. It means that the machine is in the energy save mode. This light goes off when you press the print button which will "wake up" the copier and bring it to a ready to copy state. It will remain ready for a minute or 2 after making your last copy then it will return to sleep mode. Sharp had to do this in order for the machine to qualify for the Energy Star rating.

Hold down the "C" key for a few seconds. The page count will be displayed in 2 sets of numbers. Such as 026 then 003. This would indicate 26,003 copies. The machine must be in the ready to copy state.

This is going to be a user program:
1) press and hold both light and dark keys
a) the 2 buttons to lighten and darken copies
b) hold both for 5 sec until indicators light up
2) use the left copy quantity key show 2
3) press your copy key
4) use the right quantity key to change to 2 (max 90 sec)
5) press the copy key

repeat step 2 but change to 3 with left quantity key
press the copy key
change right number to (4 = 60 min, 1 is default at 5 min) then press your copy key.
Once done press both light and dark key again to exit

Note*** changing shut off timer and preheat will effect copy lamp ready state. Every 60 sec or so the scanner will move and reset. Some people do not like the noise is makes all the time. If you don't you can always change it back to the defaults. 2=0 and 3=1.

Check fuser unit. Fuser does not reach the cpecified temperature within specified time, or will be low mains voltage...

Model No Please and when do you get this error.
Is the printer able to come to ready state.
Does this error comesback when you are trying to print a copy. Please provide more details

Press the paper select key for 3 secs.,a default paper size will be shown ,press the zoom keys + or - untill F12 is shown , press the recall %/enter key ,press the zoom keys again untill the correct size is shown , Lg should should be shown for legal,press the recall%/enter key again , the selection should flash and the copier will return to the ready state.
