We purchased a Quantaray QSX9002TMBK last year and have loved it. However, we have somehow misplaced the base part that screws into your camera and allows quick snap in and out of the tripod mount. Is it possible to purchase a replacement and where is the best place to do so?

The knob/screw that loosens and tightens to move the brace up and down the center base broke off. I've only had this tripod for about a year and have hardly used it.

very cheap tripod. might want to find a better tripod.. they don't have a long life expectancy as they are made for cheaper camera systems and not suited for heavy cameras,, have you thought of buying a better tripod. i don't want yo uto think i am making fun of your tripod but quantaray anything is usually not that good.. quantaray products are usually sold in packages that you buy on-line when you buy one of their lenses and they pitch a tripod in which are chinese tripods and made very cheaply.. i would not trust one of my cameras on top of a quantaray tyripod ever.. they are just too unstable.. sorry . but you may want to try a kalaimar or a manfrotto or go to craigslist or ebay and buy a used bogen or manfrotto (same tripod) for a fraction of the price of a new one and they are considered to be professional and will last for many years.. i have used the same one for over 20 years and it still works as good as it did the day i got it..

Need part for Quantaray QSX-DigiPro 8500

This is a longshot but it may well work if you can't get one from the manufacturer mailed to you for a reasonable price, there are mini tripods at most drugstores with the base plate and screw that are pretty cheap you may be able to take the screw from one of those and use it, they are all the same thread.

Quantaray lenses are private label lenses made by Sigma for Ritz Camera. For service contact Ritz Cameras or your nearest large camera store. Most large camera stores have a repair department that should be able to supply the screw for your lens.

Quantaray

Quantaray tripods are manufactured by Ritz camera. The factory and service location is in India. Here is the number to contact the service department. I am not sure if they offer parts or if you would need to send to them.
