My 5 Disk CD player doesn't work. It wont read any kind of CD. The radio and Tape Decks still work though. How can I fix the CD player.

thats a lazer problem in the cd usually a cd cleaning disk will sort that problem if not a its the lazer head thats distorted best this to do it put a conversion tape to ipod or iphone and play your tunes off those devices via your tape, there only cheap to buy.

I am guessing you took this apart? It sounds like the drive belt broke.

try cleaning the LASER IRIS with a CD cleaning disk

it might be the steiro cant read the disk because the cd is scratched or maby it cant read the cd cuz if you put the songs on a cd it might not read hope this helps!!!!

im in the same boat as you...we have one of those as well and the cd's wont read...only the fm and tape work

Just bought 2001 peugeot 406.The radio worked perfect but CD player not reading disk or operating.That was until I realised that the CD for driving safety will not allow you to put CD into it while driving or engine running.Switched off engine then switched it to 1st batt light position & CD worked perfectly.But when I then switched key off & then started it was back to not operating.I then realised that the CD player for safety will not operate when engine is running unless you let the CD start operating first pre engine fire then wait a little more time before starting .Now it should work properly though it will not allow even the passenger to change a disk while being driven. On disk change you have to go through the same start proceedure.Hope this will get your CD working.Sherlock ??

PUT AN CLEANER DISK INSIDE(DISK WHICH CLEAN OPTICAL PATH INSIDE)-YOU CAN OBTAIN IT FROM NEAR RADIO SHACK.
PUT AN GOOD CD AND TEST.

is the files your burninthe same format m8 ie mp3,wma

Insert Lens cleaning Disk, after cleaning the disk If the CD is reading change the lens.
