I would like to know the model no of the Lofra Oven we bought in 2001. Its a Upright cooker Lofra Maxima, 900mm Gas top & electric oven. The under carriage element has burnt out and needs replacing and the spare parts company will not proceed unless I can give them this info. Where they say we can get this model no seems to have deteriorated over time and I cannot make out the model no at all

The same thing happened to my oven a few years, however there are two major differences:
1. I'm in the UK
2. It was an electric oven
I don't know why it exploded, but they go with a heck of a bang, don't they!
I lived way out in the middle of nowhere so turned to the internet, first armed with the model and serial number of the oven. I found a supplier online and had the replacement within a couple of days.
Maybe you'll be able to find an online suppler in your part of the world. Good luck.
Hi
I also had difficulty in obtaining a Lofra oven door seal but after searching and searching the internet I obtained an email address and now the problem has been solved. I received my oven door seal from the Italian Lofra company direct this morning. I dealt with a lady named Donatella and I found her very helpful. She can be contacted on [email protected] just give her the make of your cooker and she will let you know if she has one mine cost around £14.
Good luck
Suzie :)

The orange light is designed to go off when temperature required is achieved in the oven. If the light remains on it suggests that the oven is not heating, It could be a thermostat problem but it's more likely to be the element.
