AEG Lavamat 16810 Front Load Washer/Dryer Logo
Posted on Aug 18, 2010

Hi, I bought a new frontdoorgrip. Partnumber 0012932; for the Lavamat L16810. When mounting the screws I found out that they are too thin: I can push them easily into the holes. Do I need nuts behind the frontdoorgripplate? Probably the old nuts are inside the wassingmachine now? And if I need those nuts, why aren't they incuded in the frontdoorgripset? The screws aren't there too. P.S. Can I find an exploded view on the internet of the Lavamat L16810? Kind regards, hope you can help me. F.Kalkman, Pijnacker.

No nuts. The screws fit into the plastic electric door mechanism which, after you took the screws out, will be hanging iside the machine. Either take the lid off to access or, easier but a bit fiddly, is to feel for it (with your left hand) through the rubber drum seal. With a bit of manipulation you will see the screw holes and door catch appear; line them up and replace screws and plastic facia.
I did the same thing and learned not to unscrew anything without knowing what it's there for!!!

T640 gives 242.10 error no paper jam found does not happen all the time I open tray 2 , close and hit check works will happen from tray 2 only

Hi, most possible cause are worn rubbers tires in the papertray. You'll have to replace them. Partnumber is 40X0070. For now you can try to take the off and mount them inside out.
Good luck, Gerrit Jan

Lavamat 16820

The reason the machine is coming up with E20 when drying.
is that there is a blockage of fluff in the dryer air duct on the right hand side of the machine just below the fan unit.
the air that goes through this duct is heated and returns back to the tub to dry the clothes. because there is a blockage in this duct the fan pushes air up the pressure switch tubes and fools the machine in to thinking that there is too much water in the drum,
too remove this blockage you have to disconnect the power supply, remove the lid and remove the back panel, 4 screws at the bottom + 4 up top under the lid. plull the water pipe with the valve out of the way and pull back panel away.
you should now see the dryer condensor unit blocked up with fluff. remove this unit and clean with bottle brush.
replace and make sure hoses are done up tight. replace back panel and lid, try again on drying and things should be alot better, drying should be alot quicker as well.

Water not pumping out and therefore no spinning occurs

Hi, just solved the same problem with our aeg lavamat w 1020. Try checking the filter tray (or port) at the bottom left-hand corner of your machine. This was our problem and as soon as the blockage was removed the machine could be pumped out. It appears to be running OK now.
