SOURCE: MediaDirect button

my Dell 5160 has what is called Access Direct, and this may be similar to what you have. If so, you find it in control panel, printers and other hardware, keyboard.

SOURCE: I updated vista with SP1. It couldn't update after

Oh dear, what a problem.
Unfortunately I don't think you can do more that contact Dell and ask them for a "Rescue System Disk"
There may be a charge for this disk but at least it will get your laptop going again.
A memo to Microsoft may make you feel better as well.

SOURCE: how to eject a cd in a dell XPS m1330 when the hardis has crashed and the disk inside isn't a operatindg system disc

Straighten a paper clip and insert it into a tiny hole below the CD drive tray. Push the paper clip gently into this hole and the CD tray will pop out slightly. Pull the tray out to the fully opened position so you can remove the disc.

My dell laptops xps m1330 dvd player is not working

Verify that you have the last firmware (A14) on the Dell Support web site. Then check the CSS status of the DVD (should be unlocked) with this utility

http://www.digital-digest.com/software/download.php?sid=2&ssid=0&did=1

and finally verify that the DVDs are actually readable, and that the DVD reader works (try reading / burning a data CD-ROM or data DVD).

Check also that the video player software is set to the correct region and there are no errors in the Event Viewer (Hit Start, choose Run, type EVENTVWR.MSC and Enter). DVD events should be either under System or Applications.

Dell xps m1330

Well from what I have read in your description of the problem stated, there is no way to do this without replacing your hard drive. If you cannot remember or find your password for Boot of the Computer then you really have no choice, Or you can take the other way too and thats what you choose not to do and that's call Dell Custoemr Service and pay for warranty or a In-Service for your Dell M1330. There is really no getting around that, realistically also considering the fact that it appears to be a laptop it's going to be really difficult for someone to access the hard drive to replace the hard drive, So that really eliminates to one option and that is paying for a warranty with Dell or taking it to Geek Squad at your local Best Buy Retail Store...The cons of that take to a local retail store like Best Buy would be having to purchase a whole new operating system, paying for an agent to install new hard drive, reinstalling operating system, and the biggest part is will Dell now provide you drivers for your computer usually that will depend upon whether you get the Operating System that came with the Dell XPS M1330, if you choose to down-grade then you more than likely will be not elgible for Driver updates from Dell and will have to manually go to the manufactors and retrieve them one-by-one.

Touch Pad Security

This may just be a simple driver glitch. Try uninstalling the drivers for it, then reboot. The machine will find the touch pad and reinstall the drivers automatically. If this doesn't work, then try a system restore. Still not working, do a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. Try these in this order, one will work for you.
