SOURCE: Memory Card Error
I am assuming that the camera continues to work fine with other cards, so the problem is only with the card, not with the camera.
To try to retrieve pictures, get yourself a USB SD card reader&writer (under $10 on eBay), plug it into your PC, and see if the files are readable that way.
If the files are readable, find the folder with JPG files, and simply move them to computer.
If the computer starts freezing every few seconds while you are accessing the card, or the move process is dealing with one file for a very long time (over 10 minutes), the card has physical problems, and there is a chance that things may not be recovered. Try moving each file separately. I did a quick search for you: "recover sd card files" - I found a few shareware utilities that would try to recover corrupted files, starting with "Card Recovery 3.50".
Once you are done with the recovery, determine if the card is usable in the future. Format the card using the camera (look for the option in Menu), take it out and use USB card reader to fill up the card with any junk from you computer, and then try to copy it from the card again onto your computer (create and use a junk folder). If this fails, look for a way for way to exchange the card under warranty, if you have any. Otherwise, the card may not be compatible with the camera (although unlikely). Test it by taking lots of test video and test pictures just to fill up the card, and try to read it. If everything is fine, and you want to take the risk, the problem may be a one time issue and will never happen again. Otherwise, use the card for something else.
Good luck!

The maximum supported size is most likely 2GB SD Card. Cards with 4GB and more are following a new (incompatible) standard called SDHC (SD High Capacity), SDHC cards work only in devices specifically supporting SDHC. The Optio S5N uses the old SD standard where 2GB are the maximum size.

The S4 accepts SD and MMC cards. SD cards max out at 2Gb. The 4Gb and 8Gb cards are actually SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards, not SD cards, and thus will not work in devices designed for SD cards. Compatibility goes only one way--SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.

The S2 IS uses SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. While you can use SDHC cards with the SD750, you will have to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller, with the S2 IS.
