My MP 830 printer will no longer feed copies from the automatic document feeder. The machine makes noise like gears slipping and the paper goes one fourth of the way and then stops before it can go down. At that point the machine tells me "document in ADF redo operation after checking document in ADF and pressing OK ". I do not see any blockage anywhere. I have reset machine by turning it off and then back on. I can still receive faxes OK and I can copy off of the platen. This machine is probably 18 months old and up until now has been great. ADF is an outomatic document feeder on top of the printer. That's where you put paper that you want copies or scans of. See video below.

load mp feeder means To load the Manual Paper Feeder
You might have selected the printer settings for manual feeding. Hence you need to feed that papers in manual feeding tray.
You can change the settings to automatic paper feeding to get rid of this error.

as soon as you load the original on the ADF you get the message as original loaded..check if you get this message..
if you do not get this message..try cleaning the rollers with the lint free cloth(dry cloth)..try to make a copy..if its still the same..
then connect the printer directly to the wall outlet..and then check..
if its still the same then try these steps..
1)unplug the power chord from the back of the printer..press and hold OK and CANCEL button together..
2)while pressing these two button plug in the power chord to the back of the printer..
3)after you plug in the power chord do not release those two buttons untill the screen goes blank..
4)once the screen is blank release the buttons and then turn on the printer..
5)then try to make a copy from the ADF..if its still the same..then machine should be replaced..

The problem is that that there a small piece of glass that the doc feeder use's to scan the orginal. You will have to clean the small glass it's about a half of a inch piece and is normally under the doc feeder unit. It will either be to the right side of the main copy board glass or it is under the doc feed unit where the paper goes down through the feeder. It is mostly some white out on the glass, just clean with a dam cloth with water or windex..... Good Luck

Take a little soap and a little water and clean the gray feed tire that is located in the document feeder. Check for any paper obstructions. If the machine has had a lot of prints I would replace the feed tire.

I have noticed that these rollers can wear to the point that they no longer make proper contact with the paper regardless of cleaning. (Especially if you frequently print to paper of varied thicknesses) Try using a card stock sheet in the automatic feeder, if the problem goes away, you will need to replace the rollers to print to standard letter.

I have a Laser Jet 3050..when I try to load a oaoer to copy or fax, paper does not move...just gears moving but paper is not being pick up...any solutions?

have you tried cleaning the separator pad inside the automatic document feeder?

try to Load one or two sheets of unused plain white full-size paper into the document feeder tray, and then press Start Copy Black to pull the pages through the automatic document feeder. The plain paper releases and absorbs residue from the rollers and separator pad.

If the problem persists, clean the rollers and separator pad manually

try to open your fax machine ang check paper feed gear maybe 1teeth of gear is broken..or maybe your machine incountered feeding timing error.
