Od is an open door error if the door is closed then you would have to replace the door switch or the wiring that goes to the door switch first try to open and close the door and make sure it seats properly in the small hasp type holder if the error code still persists then check the wiring to the switch and if the wiring looks like everything is connected well then you would have to order a new door switch i hope this helps in your appliance situation and please remember to rank this solution if you have any more questions please message me back. Have a great day

Od code on my Maytag Front load Neptune Washer...Hi, could anyone please share more info on DIY fixes, I have tried everything under the Service mode and eventually did a Board Output Test also..

17 The door / cover switch has not been opened since the last two last revolutions. The door did not open after two complete washing cycles. The door switch has not been opened since the last two revolutions. Displays "od". If the door is open, the error disappears. Check the door lock probably bad.

Also you might need to reset it.

Washer will not start , od code is showing on the panel

You have lost signaling from the Left Hand Lid lock.

The OD code is sent out from the Console main control board when a lid open is not sensed via the signaling from the Left Hand Lid lock for three completed wash cycles.

Google this sticky for help with your issue ""Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW"" start at the 5th post down. You will find a link to the service manual and help on troubleshooting your issue.

Will not start up and show code 0d

Hello kc59mail ,

For the FAV6800A the od alarm means the Control Board has not seen a lid open condition for three complete wash cycles. I suspect the left lid lock.

I think you have a problem with the magnetic reed relay in the left lid lock. If you could try this? I want to make sure you signal an “OP” alarm to the display. Can you select Spin Only cycle with the lid open press start. Do you signal the “OP” alarm lid open to the display? If it does close the lid and the “OP” alarm should clear does it? I’m checking that the lid magnet is in place and the signaling connections are working thru the left lid lock back to the control board.

Let us know what you fin and we will go from there. You could try powering down the machine by removing the 120VAC power cord from you wall receptacle. That may give you three more wash cycles before the od alarm is triggered again.

Maytag Neptune washer

It stands for 'open door'. The control board didn't see that you've opened the door since the last cycle and won't start another cycle until it see's that. Probably a bad switch in the door latch assembly. If you can verify a bad switch, it's best to replace the whole latch assembly. It also may be a shorted wire, trace the wiring back from the latch to the board and check for any signs of damage. It's possible, but very unlikely, that the control board is bad. If everything else checks out it's the board.
