Most of these guys get a bad blower wheel. The heat melts the hub causing it to spin free and airflow is reduced. This makes it take fifty forevers to dry a load of clothes. More Here

I have a GE dryer that won't dry our clothes. It heats up, but water is all over the inside door and the lint that comes out of the hose in the back is wet! The outside of the dryer (the top in...

It really sounds like your washing machine is not spinning the clothes out enough. Have they been wetter than usual lately? The dryer could just be struggling to keep up with the heavier / wetter load as there is no reason for it to create moisture on it's own.

Dryer is hot when opened, but takes 3 or 4 timed cycles to get clothes dry on very dry setting and timed setting

Check for a restriction in exhaust system, not just behind unit but all the way to outside vent, should feel warm decent airflow at outside vent.If not all you will end up with is warm moist clothes,You need good airflow to take away the moisture in the clothes not just heat. This issue can happen slowly over time and next thing you know its taking two or three times longer to dry even though when you open the door its hot inside.
Good luck

My ge dryer takes 5hrs to dry a load of clothes, it seems hot enough inside when i open it but the clothes used to dry in 90mins or so now its hours

Have you checked your lint filter? Do you empty your lint filter after every load? If it is hot inside the dryer then the most likely suspect is a clogged exhaust vent. Check the lint filter, if it is clean pull the dryer out from the wall and disconnect the exhaust hose. You may have to clear out the exhaust hose...compressed air usually does the trick. After you have done this, put everything back together and your problem should be gone.

Dryer wont dry clothes

Vents can fool you sometimes they seem to be ok but still cause problems. Try running with vent unhooked from machine one time and see if it works ok.
Check for leaks air leaks around the door or anywhere else.

Gas dryer is not drying clothes

Go out to where the vent goes outdoors and feel if any air is blowing out of there with the dryer running. If you dont feel any air then probably your vent is blocked. You will need to clean it or fix the vent pipe if it is crushed.

Not drying

I know you cleaned the lint vent but your vent hose is clogged or damaged and there is no air exchange thru the dryer Air can only hold 100% humidity. You could dry your clothes for 10 hours but the air in the dryer is saturated with water and can not hold anymore so your clothes wont dry. Check behind your dryer and Ill bet the vent line is damaged. The problem is the air is not getting out of the dryer. Check the flapper at the end of the vent line. With the dryer running go to the end of the vent hose and there will be no air coming thru.
