I had this problem with my daughter's D860, so the fix may help for this also.
As you know, externally the lens has two parts; the long barrel with glass lens at the front and the bottom part that rotates to move the long barrel in and out.
All I did was keep twisting the bottom part (that rotates) clockwise and anti-clockwise whilst turning the camera off and on. It may take quite a few attempts, but in my case it finally worked. So far anyway! who can say if it'll happen again.
Warning! Obviously take care how much pressure you put into twisting the rotating part of the lens. You wouldn't want to break it!!
Does the camera make a loud beep noise?
With your finger nail, grap under where the flaps at the front off the lens open and close. Turn the camera on and pull upwards with your finger giving the lens movement someassistance.
This sometimes with rectify the issue. If not, as per REL123, you will need to find a service centre for repair of the camera.
You'll have to contact the Samsung company.
Can you exchange it?
