I can't get my Sony XGA VPL-CX10 projector to switch from rear projection back to front projection. I can make the change in the menu but nothing changes on the screen.

Hi,
After replacing lamp, connect projector AC power cord and turn the projector in standby mode.

Press following keys on control panel for less then 5 seconds each..
RESET, <==, ==>, ENTER.
That will reset lamp timer in projector.

SOURCE: Sony VPL-CX6 Projector turns itself off. No image projected.

does the "lamp/cover"-led light up? i had the same thing happening, the lamp either broke or is about to break and the projektor won't turn it on again to protect itself. if its very urgent, open the projector pull the lamp out and put it in again, it might work for 1 or 2 more times, but it is very likely to explode (usually not breaking the projector but for sure not good for it).

check your power source, power cord... if your power source & your power cord is good, your power supply board is defective.

Sony vpl dx 100. Why does it indicate frequency out of range when I connect my VGA cable to the the port?

Sony VPL DX 100 is a native XGA projector [1024x768]
so if u connect to a PC that has higher resolution than XGA , it will not be able to project and will show u out of range .
you will need to reduce the screen resolution in your resolution settings to XGA and the problem will be solved.
On a Laptop however, the graphics card should automatically identify the native resolution of the projector and adjust the screen resolution that is being sent from the graphics adapter.
you can also repalce the VGA cable and check if the problem gets solved as a broken pin or cable internally can also result in a similar problem!

I see the letters backwards in my Sony XGA VPL-CX10 projector. how can i fixed?

there is an image flip setting that I hope you are refering to when you say "backwards".
each unit is diffrent and I couldn't locate that models manual. however in the function menu you should find an image flip setting. as it is with most of their models

I have a vpl-cx10,it starts up and the fans all run for about 3 sec. then i hear a click and it shuts off and the fan/temp light comes on. can anyone help???

Do one thing just reset the lamp hour of you projector. For that do the following

Press the following keys on the control panel in the following order for less than five seconds each
RESET , Left arrow button , Right arrow button, Enter. Remember one thing lamp hour reset is recommended only after replacing the lamp.

if it doesn't help then the lamp of your projector is faulty you have to replace the same.
