SOURCE: Need to Re-Assemble my Graco Snug Ride Car Seat

Hi jessibee

I found the site that you need to get an instruction manual for the seat. You will need to find the exact model of the SnugSeat that you have, because there are quite a few to choose from.

to find the model/serial number...

Car Seat trans.gif Toddler or Booster - On the back of the car seat OR on the bottom of the seat

Infant - On the back of carrier OR on the bottom of carrier OR on the stay-in-car base

Thanks for using FixYa, a Fixya rating would be great for this advice.

Good luck.

HI! I've had 3 babies and alwyas use the Sungride! My presonal trick......First, be sure to roll up a towel (try different sizes for the perfect fit) and push it under by the seat crease (where the back cushion and seat cushion meet). Then, when you are pulling the belt to make it tighter, put your knee in it to add some weight and really get it tightened! I'm sure you'll notice a world of difference! :)

Slide the fabric all the way to one side to expose the center clasp (hook). Then using both hands grasp the clasp like you were putting you hands on handelbar (placing your thumbs under the bottom of the clasp about 1 inch apart). Then push up with your thumbs while pulling down with your fingers (which should be wraped around the outside of the clasp). You will need to push with your thumbs all the way up in order to separate the two pieces (note - it feels like you are going to break it but you wont).

Putting them back to gether is just a matter of aligning the tabs in the slots and pressing the two parts together.

DO GRACO SNUGRIDE INFANT CAR SEAT BASES WORK WITH A DIFFERENT MODEL?

Some do, some don't.

From Graco's web site:

What base will work with my car seat?

We have designed many of our car seats to work with more than one base, for your convenience. Please see the chart here for Classic Connect models.
The SnugRide Click Connect 30, 35, 35LX and 40 infant car seat carriers are compatible with any SnugRide Click Connect infant car seat base. Consumers should adhere to the height and weight requirements for the SnugRide Click Connect infant car seat carriers as stated in their owner's manual; however, the SnugRide Click Connect 40 infant car seat carrier is restricted to a height limit of 32 inches when used with a SnugRide Click Connect 30, 35 or 35LX base.

This car seat that has expired! Car seats are good for anywhere from 5-8 years. Afterward, they are considered expired. You need to buy a new car seat.

Uninstall snugride base

The straps should have a release buckle, just pull it really hard while the carseat is removed. Its a lot easier if you put all your weight on the base like kneeling down on it while pushing the release buckle toward the crease of the seat and alternating weight on the base. Good Luck, and remember, you can always cut and replace the belt if necessary!!:)

Graco snugride infant carseat

first off, make sure of the age of the car seat as there have been safety recalls with this model
here is the web site link to the graco company
http://www.gracobaby.com/customerservice/recall.aspx?categoryID=1

from the home page of www.gracobaby.com you should be able to find the instructions based on the product/serial number on the car seat
