The icemaker of our Samsung side by side refigerator gets full and clogged up frequently and although we can hear the machine churning inside, ice is not dispensed. We have put in a new water filter after the indicator light turned yellow and was told by one user that changing the water filer often helps with ice-maker problems. However, the ice maker continues to get full but will not dispense ice.

Sounds line water line inside unit that runs to the bottom icemaker is frozen.

look inside the ice maker and see if the shut off leaver is stuck.

Could be blocked up in the shute. remove all ice from the freezer and check that the ice shute (leading to the dispenser outlet) is clear. Let the freezer create a batch of ice (normally about 4 to 5 hours) and see if it dispenses then. If not , it could be a failed auger motor. That is the main corkscrew looking drive which pulls the ice into the shute. Check the icemaker in the freezer, and look for a button on the side or underneath the icemaker. Most manufacturers put one there to test the icemaker. Press the icemaker ice dispenser button and see or hear if the auger is turning.

Those ice makers get stuck from frozen ice portions. Try feeling around to see if anything in the icemaker is frozen up or any foreign object. Please do this with fridge unplugged. If you can't find any frozen or other obstruction then use the hair dryer to defrost the ice maker. This is only a guess from past experiences. My kids once put pop cicle sticks in the ice maker wanting to make ice cube on a stick. Goodluck Google burdfrenzy

Something caught inside the water valve (replace water valve ) such as dirt , sand . Or , the icemaker died in the fill position . Disconnect the icemaker plug inside the freezer , and see if water still runs from the icemaker fill tube . Also make sure the icemaker fill cup on the icemaker , is not clogged with ice .

I assume the water valve you replaced is the fill valve located within the refigerator.

If so, I suggest that you check the saddle needle valve on your water supply pipe - (generally in the basement). It may have finally clogged up totally from calcium deposits.

Replacing it may resolve the problem. Even if it does not, you've spent less than 10 dollars on it and you've eliminated one of the possible causes.

3. Water travels to solenoid valve, and waits for request. (do you hear it click when water requested??)
4. Water usually goes to a fine filter..(these fail (plug) quite regularly).
5. Water goes through storage in back of cool section (Inside fridge- is it full of water?).
6. Water goes to ice maker on fill request.
7. ?? Is the power switch "on" (to icemaker)??
8. ?? Is the full / stop filling paddle/bar up?

Well, it sounds like your condenser fan motor has seized up and needs to be replaced. I had the same problem and additionally it woudl onhly produce about twenty cubes of ice a day. Best Buy repair guy came replaced the fan motor and within 10 minutes the heat was dissapated from the strip and it started churning out ice agin.

I have pooling inside the freezer, which freezes and then leaks on the floor. Does anyone have the 7 year wrap around warrantly? I bought one with my frig in 2002 and have misplaced it. I wonder what is covered on this frig full of problems.
