Hi, I scan documents (recto and recto-verso) using the InformatikScan software and the scanner Canon DR-9080C. When I scan for ex. 30 pages, after 10 pages the scanning process slows down in...

The scanner creates a Raster Image and if it is grey or color, the size is big. After a few images are scanned, the 'buffer' inside the scanner is full. It may take more time to process the scanned image by the scanner if it is 24 bit color. The image is sent to the computer Harddisk and if the disk is full or if it had not been defragged for a long time, the sectors may not be contiguous for speedy writing, This will slow up the scanning. Ensure the disk has large space. 'Scan ahead' slows down scanning speed. (Without scan ahead, the next page is fed only after processing, whereas when selected, just after the previous page is scanned, the scanner start the next one)

Hi
I think you will need to run the cd installer again to install the scanner driver on your printer.

You can check if the driver of the scanner was successfully installed once you view on the Scanners & Cameras inside the Control Panel and see the image of your printer scanner. It means it is connected and ready to be used. If you can not see the icon of the printer scanner there, then, it could not be installed or the printer is attached to other pc in the network.

Remember to use the printer as scanner, it should be attached locally to the pc you are using. Pressing the Scan button in the printer will save the scanned documents in the computer as pdf files.
In order to save the documents as jpeg files, you must need to use the scan option on the Scanners & Cameras inside the Control Panel.

Hope it helps. Just post back if you still have questions.

Can HP psc 1410 PRINTER SCAN NEGATIVE AND SLIDES

Chances are that somewhere in your family photo collections you have a bunch of slides and negatives that you wish you could do more with. You may want to include them in your family history, to publish them on the Web, or simply to make digital copies so you can share them with the family.

If you've ever tried to scan a negative or slide on a regular flatbed scanner, you'll know that it doesn't work, and you end up with a pure black scan. In this article we'll show you how you get your negatives and slides into digital format, and what issues you may face along the way.

pixblue.gif Benefits Of Scanning Film

There are some key benefits to scanning film (we'll use the term to include slides and negatives) in comparison to scanning a photo. When you scan film, you can use the full area of the slide or negative, whereas a photo will generally only display a cropped portion of the original. You are also scanning the original source image rather than the color corrected and tweaked version of it that the photo processor has provided you with. The process of turning a negative image into a positive one involves inverting the colors in the image and removing the orange cast from the negative. This would be a complicated process if you were doing it by hand; however, your scanner will provide you with software to do this automatically, or you can purchase standalone software to do it.

Most cheaper flatbed scanners are designed to scan photos and other images that reflect light when it is shone onto them. The problem is that film is transparent and light passes through it rather than being reflected off it. Many flatbed scanners have an optional transparency adapter, which replaces the scanner lid with a larger box shaped ob....

I am trying to scan a document and it is not working, I have a hp photosmart c4280 printer. How do I install a usb cord

hi
Place the document or image into the scanner for scanning. A scanner with a paper feeder will only receive flat papers and photographs, but a flatbed scanner opens to accommodate books, fabrics and leaves along with flat papers. There is even a attachment for feeding photo slides into flatbed scanners.
  • Step 2 Start the scanning softwaremag-glass_10x10.gif. If the scanner does not engage the software automatically, press the "start" or "scan" button, or click the scanner icon on the computer screen to initialize the software.
  • Step 3 Activate the scan. Click the "file" menu and select "acquire," "import," or another practical choice that applies.
  • Step 4 Preview the item to be scanned. Most scanners have a preview option. This will show the scan area inside dotted lines. The lines can be moved with the mouse to relocate, enlarge or crop the scanning area.
  • Step 5 Set the resolution for images by number of dots per inch (dpi). For computer screen viewing, 100 dpi should suffice. Use 200 to 300 dpi for items to be printed.
  • Step 6 Use the appropriate setting for scanning black and white text. If the scanner does not show a preset for text, use "line art" or "black and white" at 300 dpi. Then use the optical character recognition (OCR) program to convert the image of the text into a file for word processi

    Vertical banding (rainbow effect)

You need to scan the prints at the same resolution that they were printed. Otherwise you'll get that screen door effect (moire pattern). I think this effects most scanners. I'm currently looking for a photoshop solution to this problem since I don't have the originals. Not fun.

    Faulty scanned images

Pls check your color Scan settings. Generally there will be some color difference between the original and scanned Image because, the original is 'reflected light' whereas, the scanned image is a 'source light' on the monitor. The monitor setting can also affect the color output. S. Mohan

    HP4400c Yielding Poor Image quality

I was having the same problem- dpi didn't have any effect.
Changing the SHARPEN to "High" and Descreen worked for me. My research showed the alternative fix was a new scanner, or at the very least a new bulb/power supply (which would probably cost more than a new scanner)
