I have a HCL Monitor Model HCM782M.For the past 2 years since i bought it the screen was fine.But now the screen shows the CONTRAST SETTING everytime I boot my pc and keeps up popping up ver very qucikly.I tried The Menu Button but it also has a new problem.When I open the menu, the menu functuions start running on their own.How do I fix this as I have to work online and every second of my time wasted on clicking menu buttons costs me loss of money

what is the motherboard model number ? what computer model are you using
what is the model number of LCD

my hcl 17inches monitor is displaying contrast,brightness etc automatically
in the middle of the screen.even if i press the menu buttons it
disappears for a sec and comes again and again.what should i do to

its a harware issue nothing much can be done from your end really.......right time for hardware servicing

This is common problem observed in many monitors compaq,HP,HCL,IBM this is happens mainly in rainy season due to moisture,by this moisture monitor button circuit get rust inside and button pad remain pressed. so it shows a strip at the middle of monitor like contrast or brightness. So this is minor problem just replace the monitor display control button sensor or circuit.Temporarily you can warm up the monitor by hanging a bulb of 60 watt nearer your monitor to takeoff the moisture.(Dont hang the bulb too near to the monitor). It definitely solves your problem.

SIR..., regarding monitor...display block characteristics which is operated manually by buttons situated bottom of monitor is anytime coming at the centre of monitor display... The settings block comes on suddenly and we are unable to exit from the same sometimes the block goes off without any action and everything is fine till it is back again and it is come again and again.....by all this i did'nt work on my PC...all result it's useles......please sir giving your suggestion as soon as possible....... This has been happening for the last 1 year and is a real pain Please send some solution

Unfortunately, an HCL HCM782M monitor is an unknown model. However, on similar instances and occurrence of this problem, it would seem that the controls are damp. Specifically, it would be the internal contacts of the buttons. Pls check if you can dis-assemble, remove the board/control/buttons and perform cleaning. Pls pay particular attention to the rubber pads or the small buttons themselves. if I may ask, any recent continuous rain? If yes, this may have contributed or caused your problem.
