Ipod just bought a 4gb ipod. i have windows2000. I downloaded the software from itune for windows 2000. after setup was complete I would open the itunes file and it would say ipod "IPOD" will only work with version 7.6. the version downloaded from itune compatiblewith windows 2000 is 7.3.

The only way to resolve this issue is to restore using iTunes. :)

you said its not responding to the reset trick nor turn on or charge, plug ipod to pc via usb plug. go to my computer find the ipod it shoudl show up as a hard drive. if it is there click on it and copy the ipod software to the pc (non music). now format the ipod (you was going to erase it any way) once formatted copy the ipod software from pc, back to ipod. this should make feel and act as new again. download and updated version of itunes and put your music onto ipod. feel free to rate this suggestion
