Question about Stanley Garden

1 Answer

I have a stanley SD350 screw drive garage door opener. It stopped opening the other day and makes a horible racket noise when I push the button. So I manually open the garage door and then with the door open I put the lever on the carriage assembly back in place and the garage door closes just fine. Do I have a bad carriage assembly? (49223) Is it a big deal to replace?

My gear driven garage door opener is making a loud noise

I did garage doors for 20 years and I am going to say it's not the plastic
pinion gear but the 7" three piece metal screw in the center of the rail that goes from the head unit to the wall just above the top of the door that needs lubricated. It spins inside metal to metal and will make a heck of a racket if it is dry. Buy a spray can of lithium grease and disengage the garage door and start the opener and spray the complete screw front wall to the head unit and your done.
Reconnect your garage door and give that a try, I bet that solves your
problems.
Do this every couple of years. :0)

If you are talking about a garage door opener then you should disengage the safety lever so the door will go-up and down with little effort if it doesn't then you need to adjust the door untill it does. Hope this helps

I have a chamberlain whisper drive garage door opener. When I open the door and it reaches the top it starts making a loud noise. It's like the motor is still trying to pull the door up but it can't...

SOUNDS LIKE THE UP LIMIT IS EITHER OUT OF ADJUSTMENT OR NOT WORKING.

TURN IT ABOUT THREE TURNS COUNTER CLOCKWISE. THIS SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO MAKE IT NOT OPEN ALL THE WAY. THEN ADJUST IT 1/2 TURN AT A TIME THE OTHER WAY UNTIL IT GETS CLOSE THEN SMALLER ADJUSTMENTS TILL YOU ARE HAPPY WITH WHERE IT STOPS.

HOPE THIS HELPS

My stanley deluxe garage door opener suddently stopped. It only makes tik tik sound. What do i do?

You may look at the safety sensors. Try holding the wall button down. If the door operates with the button held down then it is the sensors. Try to align them to look at each other. If not you are probably looking at either replacing the sensors or the logic board. Thanks BB

if this is a chain drive,is the chain so loose that the chain is jumping on the sprocket? this would cause a lot of noise. if this is the problem just tighten the chain.
