Re: A31 won't boot
If your OS is Win XP then UR MBR has gone currupt . You will have to reload the windows or at least repair it.
1. in repair you wont lose the data but in fresh loading of OS in C drive will delete your data in My documents and at desk top.
2. if there is some important data there then first retrive it by making ur drive as slave in other PC and then do the format.

I believe this is happening cause the ram memory is either damaged or not well inserted in slots.. Open the ram memory compartment and remove them all and insert them back one by one and try to boot up with which one at the time .. This way you will see if any of them is damaged cause will do the same or will not boot at all .. let me know what you've managed to do ..and how it behaved after checking the ram memory ..
Please remove the RAM, Hard disk and battery. press the power on button for 1 -2 minites. then insert only one RAM on another slot. Start laptop with AC power. Whether is it displaying the NO BOOT DEVICE or not. If display no boot device, please insert the Hard disk. then try..
Hope this helps to you.
If your problem not solved, please let me know...
it is done to save power from the battery. what you can do is to click on Function + <up arrow> key and it will increase the light. also you can check the power setting: 1. right click on your desktop and go to properties 2. go to Screen Saver 3. click on Power 4. check the settings under "Battery"
TRY AND REMOVE YOUR RAM AFTER THAT RESET THE MACHINE BY REMOVING THE SYSTEM BATTERY AND SHORT CIRCUITING THE BATTERY CONTACTS FOR 30 SECONDS MAKESURE THAT YOU'VE TAKING LAPTOP BATTERY OFF FROM THE MACHINE AFTER THAT PUT BACK THE RAM THE TRY TO SWITCH IT ON AGAIN
Well yes BUT if it is a problem with the LCD then you would need to replace try plugging an external monitor to see if the sizes are normal if they arent then it is definately a problem with the screen resolutions.??
