If you select cube and hold open the door and push in on the light switch and have someone push the lever for ice you should hear a loud click this is from the selector switch in the back that engages a long brass colored rod under the ice maker if you hear this loud click you probably have some crushed ice in the crusher keeping it from switching back open the door and push in on the light switch and have someone push for cube ice it will kick ice out the bottom so dont be alarmed. (sometimes you have to do this a couple times) good luck
SOURCE: can not get cubes from the front, just crushed ice and water?
Hi
When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.
First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

SOURCE: Dispenses crushed ice and will not dispense ice cubes
You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid
SOURCE: icemaker dispenses crushed ice when you select cubed ice
Hello,
A faulty ice maker thermostat, a choked up water line or a defective
water inlet valve could be the reason your ice maker is unable to
produce proper ice cubes. There will be water line behind the
refrigerator which you need to check for proper water flow. In case of
water not flowing properly through this pipe, clean or replace it if
necessary. Inspect the water inlet valve and get it changed if it has
broken down. Set you freezer temperature not more than 8 degree
Fahrenheit, to ensure a correct ice formation cycle.
If you take out the bin with the ice in it, right behind it there should
be a very small box with a lever in it. It doesn't exactly look like a
lever, but a piece of plastic that is in the little box, and it slides
up and down. It gets stuck down or up (I forget which). You can just
push it with your fingers, usually. Push it up and down a few times to
unfreeze it.
Take care.
you have to take apart the complete ice maker from inside the freezer as it has to be cleaned on a regular basis to operate properly. check with your owners manual, it tells you how to clean it.the ice cube shoot is the first to freeze up & block your flow of ice. it's not hard to do. all the best.
