I have a acer aspier 3515-2153 laptop. It wont go to the user screen.it will turn on say configuring updates then it shuts off agin. How do i fix it i cant afford another computer pleasehelp!!!

HI Steel,

For this you dont need to buy another computer.
Follow the steps.
1. Try safe boot, F8 key @ BIOS screen just after you turn on the system. Choose safe boot from menu.
2. In safeboot.
Go to control pannel and choose option Show windows updates. else they may also be visible by default.
3. Minimise the window.
4. after you find the system is turned up completely.
close the opened window without touching anything.
5. give the system a complete shutdown.
6. reboot.
7. System may say " System has recovered after a serious error"

Still if it does not works.

1.insert the OS disk.
2. choose to follow wizard seriously reading each step.
3. It will ask you ro repair your OS.
Choose this option.
4. let the system recover (The process is slow; may take 30 mins or more)

I have been getting a lot of error messages. My pc has been shutting down and when it starts back it says ''Windows has recovered from a serious error''

Hello

This is most probably a virus. Best help i can suggest is to get a antivirus and update it before scanning your computer.
If you are wondering which antivirus to use, i suggest bit defender.
Really hope this can help. Please rate this.

Best regards

The System has recovered from a serious error

Check the error log. It should give you a specific error which you can then correct. Also check your device manager to see if any devices are displaying a yellow exclamation point. Make sure you have all the current drivers for your hardware installed. Hope this helps.

Pc restarts & display "System has recovered from serious error"

If you have *********** board manual still then try and clear the CMOS memory,

turn the computer off
remove the power lead from the back
take the side off
remove the cmos battery
move the cmos jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pin 2 and 3 and the back to pins 1 and 2
replace the battery
put the side on
replug in the power lead
boot the computer

if that doesn't work then try to fix the bios.
here are instructions for that:
http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-023360.htm

and here is a link to the .bio file for you:

Serious error

Try opening your computer and cleaning the fans around the CPU and the other fans in your system. Computers have a sensor that shut computers down when they get too hot. Clean all the dirt inside and you should see a little performance boost also.

Blue Screen then system restarts with an error message

There are two possible solutions given by Micrsoft, one & two.

Both explanations are extremely, but about halfway down each page is the Resolution; One requires a registry edit; Two has a Windows Update you can download.

The system has recovered from a serious error.

I think this maybe an Operating System file failure just displaying on your monitor. Recover these files by reinstalling the driver CD.
