Check that the "data" cable is tightly-connected at both ends (monitor & video-card).

Try connecting the monitor to a different desktop/laptop computer, to see if the monitor works at all.

Try a different "data" cable between the monitor and the video-card;
obviously, your monitor's "power" cord is working, and thus, there's no need to swap that cable.

Try connecting a different monitor to your computer, to see if your video-card is transmitting any signals.

Temporarily swap-in a different video-card, to see if the video-card is the problem.

If all else fails, take the computer to a technician at a computer-store.

I connected up vga and HDMI cables and power, etc to ASUS desktop. All inputs are without signal. If I set monitor for vga, it says no vga signal. Same if set for HDMI input: no HDMI signal.

I would check your source for why it is not sending signal rather than why the monitor is not receiving. Of course, that being said, is this a new monitor or an old one that could be shot?

Searching for signal

DVI and HDMI are the exact same signal, except that DVI doesn't include the provision for audio. Essentially the problem you're having is that you have the monitor set to auto input rather than HDMI input or DVI input. Setting the monitor to not look for any input you plug in and defining the input should cause the hunting wait to be eliminated.

Monitor goes to BIOS Screen Repeatedly

Your monitor is fine, the problem here is with your computer, and sounds like a virus. Time to competely reinstall windows, or have a tech look at the computer.

When you power up the cpu check your smps is working?
Then check num lock key on key bord if it is on and off when you press numlock then your cpu gives dispaly to monitor ok.
but if it not constant on or off no change when you press num lock key then you have to open cpu cabinet.
Refix RAM memory .
Clean dust from motherbord chipset.
Pull out cmos cell for 15 minutes so bios settings are reset to defaults.
then check.
refix all connection to mothebord like ATX power supply from smps.

My tower wont turn off and monitor says no input signal and keyboard doesnt work

Do you have two video outputs on your PC ie. one on the motherboard adn a separately installed card maybe? If you do you need to set the BIOS so that it uses the AGP/PCIE video card and not the 'onboard'. Try the onbopard vodeo card first to see if you get a signal there.

If you do NOT have two video outputs, and you can not see a signal then you may have a prblem wiht your monitor itself. Is this a known working monitor to start with?

New video card wont work, acer monitor no signal

ok the IGFX is the on motherboard video you will need to set the cmos to clear the setting you did or move the video cable to the motherboard output.
after you have used the bios to switch back to the AGP you can start widows in safe mode to access the video card display options you need to reduce the resolution to a lower setting compatable with your monitor it can't resolve as high as this new video card can go.

No input data

Generally this means that the monitor is not getting a signal from the computer.

You can also get this message when a computer goes into standby. Pressing a key or moving the mouse can bring it back.

Some monitors have Dual inputs. DVI and VGA make sure in the menu screen the correct input is selected.

If you reboot your computer system and it's fine until windows begins to start then you know your monitor and graphics card is fine and a computer screen resolution setting is at fault.

Use a working monitor to change the resolution, or if you don't have one while the computer is booting press F8 and select safe mode in the menu, log in and change the resolution then reboot.

Check that the monitors cable is securely attached to the computer at both ends.

Try the monitor on a different computer.

If it works fine on a different computer you probably have a bad graphics card on the computer it was attached to.

If it does not and you have the same problem then there is a problem with the monitor.

Problem witk video input

hello:

Make sure that you have things plugged in correctly. You should check how it is plugged into the monitor and on the computer.
Make sure your settings on the LCD is set to the cable you are using from the computer. This has to be set right. If you have the setting wrong, you will get no signal on the LCD.

Try another monitor.

Try another video card.

Make sure the video is set right in the bios if you can get to it with another monitor.
take care,
