GE WWA8620 top loading washer sounds like it's spinning but doesn't actually spin. The water drains, but the clothes are soaked. Is this an easy/inexpensive fix or do I really need to go out and get a new washer?

SOURCE: Will not drain during spin???

Most likely your outlet filter of the machine is choked with dirt or something; clean out the filter & refit. Of course after taking of the wall plug & siphoning out the water from washer.

SOURCE: clothes are soaking wet after cycle is done

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

SOURCE: washer doesn,t spin

Looks like chat support session must have timed out. The answer to your last question was, yes, pres. analog switch with a red, a white, and a blue wire to it.

SOURCE: doesnt agitate or spin.

Mine is 1 1/2 years old and this worked for me

unplug from power for at least 30 seconds

turn the dial to spin but don't pull out

plug back in to power and open and shut completely so switch is engaged solidly 11 times in 15 seconds.

pull out knob to turn on

This should clear a error code.

hope it helps!

SOURCE: My GE washer won't go into drain/spin. Clothes are

It would be helpful to know the model number of the GE washer you own to be able to be more specific but ...

Many washing machines run fine with the door open until it comes to the spin cycle (for safety reasons). Confirm that the door is full closed after you have added the detergent.

If the door closed, the micro switch that senses if the door is closed may have failed or be out of alignment.

Washer doesn't spin and drain

Possible blockage in 1 of the outlet pipes causing it to not drain out fast enough and keeping the clothes wet.

Washer drains then spins then fills again and drains but no spin

Try this, unplug washer for two minutes, plug back in, open and close lid seven times slowly, this will reset the computer and the electronic motor. Also on water level switch, make sure hose from switch to tub is not plugged, blow it out, gets clogged with soap.

GE Front Loading Washing Machine seems to be holding water....

The high speed spin of a front load washer should normally do a good job of getting squeezing out the water but if there is an oversudsing condition that makes it hard for the drain pump to operate then the suds and water will just stay there. First make sure there is no actual clog in the drain line then run a load with no soap or detergent and see what happens. It's always better to use a low suds detergent with this type of machine

I have the same problem. The water drains, but I have no spin leaving the clothes soaked. I get a humming sound and thats it. The rest of the washer works fine. Any help would be great.
