Yes the ignitor stays on even after the burner is lit. The ignitor is wired in series with the oven valve. It sounds like the oven valve isn't opening all the way. A new ignitor should solve this problem. The old igniter builds up resistance and doesn't let the correct voltage through to the oven valve for it to open properly.

The ignitor stays on BUT it dont keep igniting after the burner receives gas..Sounds to me a low gas supply, restriction in the gas line, bad gas regulator to stove or house

I have a stoves gas oven model no. 059040300 and although the oven lights the heat does not increase, it just stays on a low flame, what do you think is wrong , bye the way it has recently been moved

Hello Saidie,

It is a common problem, but the first time I saw it, I thought it was the thermostat. But it is not.
It is the flame safety device that needs to be changed. You can not repair them, it has to be replaced by a good one.

If it is round, use part #:

Oven takes 5 minutes to come on (ignite).

Replaced the igniter. The parts guy told me that the amperage changes with age and use; thus the igniter still glows, but it takes much longer to operate the gas valve with the reduced amperage. Cost - $70.14

Wolf oven - oven clicks continuously

This sounds like you have a flame switch getting ready to go out. The reason you are hearing the ticking noise is that after the ignition is satisfied the flame switch is not detecting and sending a signal to continue to try for ignition.
