hi damian, thanks for the response, the board was off ebay supposed to be new old stock but it did have a bent pin on the hd led (by the sata plugs)and had some dust on it..:(,i put my old board back in and its the same hd tries and a sickly beep so i think its the new board is just as dead as my old 1 they are both m2n-e sli green, are these boards weak?

    and thanks again ;)

Hi
Sounds like the BIOS corrupted while updating. It's usually easiest to just buy a new motherboard. As for the second one could i please get more information. Is it new? Are you 100% it's plugged in correctly? They usually don't just do nothing. You usually get a sequence of beeps alerting of an error. This may mean a power supply issue.

Just a thought. Since they are both the same model you can try putting the BIOS chip out of the dead motherboard into the half working one. Worth a shot. I can provide pictures of what it will look like if you need. In some cases you may need to solder but usually not.
