There's a big dent in my oil pan; it's not giving me an accurate reading on the stick. The stick says that it is over full by a quart when actually it is a quart low. and the pan also appears to leak. I need to know what I need to do to replace the oil pan.

I'm not sure the year and make of this car, but if its a newrer buick then its not to hrad to replace the oil pan, jack the front of car up and support it with jack stands, then remove the oil from pan. remove the bolts holding the pan, pan should drop down, you may have to tilt back and wiggle out, also you may have to drop the pump or pickup screen depending on how much room is needed to remove the pan.

What is the correct oil capacity for a 3 litre Jeep Grand Cherokee 2006 model please?

Most cars have 4 quart oil pans plus 1 quart for the filter. Always add 1 quart at a time, while checking for the full mark on the dip stick.

Is replacing an oil pan in a 2004 toyota camry an easy fix ?

It isn't too hard. You need to drain the oil first ( make sure to change the gasket around the plug every time you remove and replace the plug or it will leak), then drop the oil pan... put down lots of absorber pads as there will be droppings. Have a rag on hand for your hands. Scrape and clean the old seal where the oil pan meets the engine then put on a new one once it is thoroughly cleaned. Put on new pan, or repair old one.... again make sure to replace oil pan gasket and new oil drain gasket ( around plug..) since your going that far get a new oil filter also.... fill the new filter with oil before installing, fill up the engine with new oil..ps. It takes a few minutes to run down so wait between oil bottles and check the level ( don't run the car) fill the oil until the dip stick reads full ( remember wait a few minutes between each liter of oil to give it a chance to leak into the bottom of the engine). I believe it is around 4.5 quarts including the amount needed to fill the filter.

I have a 200 ford expedition 5.4 liter and I can only check my oil level only if I have my truck and if its cut off my oil stick will not display any oil and the stick, only when its crank. I also have a...

02 sensors will not cause your vehicle to stall if they are bad enough to stall vehicle then your check engine light would be on. if the oil level only reads when vehicle running then ADD OIL ASAP. the level is very low. your dipstick checks level in pan once all oil drains back to pan with vehicle off. your oil is constantly flowing when vehicle running. that flow is splashing the oil up high enough that you are seeing it then. once truck is off all the oil drains down to pan and means level is so low not hitting the dipstick. If no reading when truck off you may need atleast 2 quarts of oil. Start by adding one quart to see if you get a reading. keep adding until you do. do not check immediately after shutting vehicle off. you have to give the oil time to drain back down to the pan. DO NOT KEEP DRIVING THE VEHICLE THAT LOW ON OIL YOU WILL BLOW YOUR ENGINE.

Has a 'pinking' noise for a second or two, when the car is started from cold

Check the oil level. Also can try a lower viscosity oil for cold weather especially. 5W30. You can also replace 1 quart of oil with a quart of Lucas Oil when changing your oil. That "pinking", I suspect, is your engine running dryer than it should for that second as the oil circulates. First make sure the level is filled up to the full line on the dipstick. Check when the car is off to get and accurate reading. The Lucas oil will stick to your cylinder walls far greater than standard oil preventing a "dry start." Good luck.
