My Garmin Nuvi 660 touch screen is frozen. I've tried to reset it with the switch on the back. I've tried connecting it to my computer to reset it. Powering on and off don't work.

Sounds like your firmware needs updated. Just go to Garmin’s website then downloads and update your firmware. As long as there is no screen damage but just touch screen not working that will fix it. An easy test is to take out the battery and if the unit works for second then freezes you just need to update firmware. Turn off unit plug into computer via usb cable and do firmware update, that easy!!!! Hope that helps?

Get frozen old the time my gps garmin 660

if its frozen to the point that it will not turn off, lift the external antenna and push the reset button, then start it up again and see if its ok. if not

make sure its has a good charge, plug it in to the usb port2.gif on your computer for a few hours.

if that fails, try a reset

note: the master reset will erase all your saved data

with the unit off,and unplugged, try pressing and holding your finger on the low right corner of the screen and slide the power switch to the on position until you see the message "confirm if you really want to delete all user data?" hit yes and let it restart. then it will set up the nuvi again, so follow the prompts.

hook up the nuvi to the web updater and get the latest update

you can get the Web Updater HERE

Garmin 660 locked up / frozen

Resetting the device merely resets the power connection, on some devices there is a reset to manufacturer defaults on settings, but not your stored data. Working with GPS's 40 hours a week I constantly have to use the reset button when they lock up. Just press it in for a few seconds then if it doesn't power back up just hit the power button and everything should be fine.
