Calypso kemore elite washer

Keep getting ob code, can't figure out why, machine is level?

even with no clothes, still get code after several minutes of trying to complete some type of cycle. Sounds like its trying to level the clothes before a wash or spin cycle.

The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control.
One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.

If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.

The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.

I own a kenmore elite heavy duty plus washer. During operation it stops and a message apears saying ob when you open the lid and close it ob disapears and I restart it and minutes later the timer never...

The OB error code is short for out of balance. There are two fixes that you can try: One is to move the clothing around in the tub. or Two the machine isn't level and is causing it to falsely error as out of balance.

Whirlpool Calypso stops at 26 minutes and throws ob code

first you need to clean your washer
run the washer with no clothes; add 1 cup vinegar, that will cut the soap residue from the hoses do this on hot wash hot rinse

then when you wash your next load of clothes; fill the tub about 1/4 full, add the soap, turn the agitator to disolve the soap, then add the clothes

this problem happens also if you are using too much soap or a heavy duty soap such as Tide.

Calypso GVW9959K washer with OB code

This is a common problem with the Calypso washers. The problem that you are having is related to the pump. There is something in the pump that is causing the error code to occur. Since the pump isn't working right all of the water isn't draining out thus causing it to be out of balance. If you can get down to the pump and check it out chances are you will find something in it. It might just be some fabric or string from clothing caught around the pump motor. Just make sure you clamp off the hoses or you will flood your laundry room. Once you clear out the pump unplug the washer and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful. Good luck and glad I could help.

Ld and ob error codes

hello.........
“LD” stands for “long drain,” meaning it took an excessively long time for water to drain out of the washer. Common causes for this are kinked drain hose or clothing, like panties or socks, caught in the pump suction hose. Why, I’ve even heard of bra wires coming loose and getting stuck in that hose, collecting all sorts of gookus and pinching off the flow of water to the pump. Can you imagine? Yea verily, as surely as the Sacred Suds doth eternally pass my lips, the “LD” error code springs forth from such anomalies.

I'm also having trouble with the Elite Calypso as it seems many mnay people are, what can we all do, Sears won't do a thing without charging top dollar

After discovering the high cost professional repair, I accessed this website to determine whether the problem might be a quick fix. Thank you very much for your expert advice! Thanks to you, I saved hundreds of dollars.

Symptoms: Cycle halts with little/no draining, followed by error displays, especially "ob" and "ld". Occasional leakage of several cups of water.

Problem: Several underwires from various females' undergarmets had become lodged in the last drain compartment, just before water exits to the drain hose.

Solution: Once the clog/wires were removed, the machine functioned normally.

Process: First disconnect power and water supplies to the unit. Next, determine if someting is stuck in the drain hose or in the compartment that empties into it by removing the back panel. In my case, I could see wires and clogs of lint through the translucent yellow plastic of the bottom compartment.

To acces the clog, I drained most of the water by lowering the end of the drain hose as much as possible before disconnecting it, then sucked the rest up with a wet/dry vac when I removed the hose. Then I was able to pull the wires out through the drain holes (it was necessary to disconnect the other three hoses from that compartment) using a coat hanger bent and twisted appropriately.

Total time for a "handy" amateur that had never worked on a major appliance before: 1-2 hours. $ saved on a repair housecall: $200-300
