The most common problem with this is the door/flapper is not closing snuggly. Usually a piece of ice holds it open but if this is happening all the time make sure the little ice door/flapper is closing all the way open the door and push it open and see how it is closing. If there is not water freezing on the left side of the freezer under the icemaker its self you have to have air getting into the freezer and usually its the ice door. good luck

The automatic ice cube maker continues to make ice cubes when the tray is full. It also dispenses crushed ice when the Cube option is selected.

You have a frozen selnoid that opens a door to let ice to pass crusher. And also the ice maker needs a different arm so not to make too much ice. You will have to call a tech to do the job. But now you know what is wrong. I hope this helps.

Ice maker only makes crushed ice and I want cubes only

You could have a bad augar motor. It will turn one way for crush and the other way cube. that is the moldel with ice bin on door. If you have ice bin in the freezer not on the door. you could have the ice crusher lever jammed. that is the wire lever on the bottom of ice bin. Or the selnoid the moves the lever up thus opening the door and allowing the ice to pass the crushers. hope this helps.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. the fan in the freezer blows air through it. there is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control.

Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp. try to chec in the user guide.

Ice maker chute becomes jammed with snow and cubes are being crushed even if the cube option is selected

You need to remove the ice bin , remove ( save ) the ice , and defrost the bin opening with hot water . It sounds like a piece of ice got caught behind the bin flap , keeping the flap from opening fully , so cubes will go thru . When cubes cannot go thru , the crusher will crush anything that tries . Now this is the ice container only .

Ice maker only makes crushed ice, no cubes

The button which selects cubes versus crushed controls a solenoid which engages/disengages the crusher. If the mechanisms which crush and push the ice from the chute are all clean, free of ice, etc., then the solenoid is not working. It either has loose/dirty connections or the solelnoid is bad.

Ice maker only operates on crushed ice mode

There should be a solenoid behind the ice bucket that moves an metal arm on the ice bucket to move the crush teeth away for cubes or keeps the crush teeth in place for crushed cubes. Bad solenoid, bad wire at the solenoid, broken solenoid/mechanism piece, bent arm, no power from dispenser to the solenoid are -some- possible trouble makers.

Also the solenoid that controls the crush/cube function is probably frozen. First, pull out your ice bucket. On the bottom of the bucket is a long metal rod the runs all the way to the back wall of the freezer. That rod runs into a little square hole in the back of the freezer. The hole is about 1 and half inches square. Just put your finger in there and see if the solenoid plunger moves up and down easily. If it doesn't move, then it is frozen. Just hit that area with a hair dryer and it will release. If it moves easily, then make sure that the the rod on the ice bucket is seated in there properly

Most likely nothing broken. Just pull out the ice bucket. You will see a metal rod along the bottom area that protrudes into a hole in the back of the freezer. That gizmo has to move up and down freely to set the crusher / cube arm in the correct position. You should be able to move it up and down with your finger. If not, it may be frozen, or have a bad solenoid.

Admiral Fridge Freezer

We had thought this was a free service...??? Yes, we fixed it ourselves, after trial and error. We pulled out the ice bin and there is an arm that is moves back and forth beside it. It had frozen up. That is the ice crusher. Thaw it out and it is fixed. By the way, the above posting was not by us--ours stated that our ice crusher did not crush ice anymore. Instead, cubes came out...

Ice crusher has stopped crushing

There is a little bar that is on the ice bucket. That bar has to go into the middle of the plastic square that is on the back wall of the freezer. Try Pulling out the ice bucket, get a hair dryer and run the hair dryer on the back wall of the freezer right above the hole where that little bar goes. After you run the hair dryer for about 10 minutes or so put your finger in the hole and pull down on the plastic square. Make sure when you put the ice bucket back in the freezer, the bar goes inside the square hole, not under it, not over it. In it. If that doesn't fix the problem you probably just need a new solenoid. Part number 5304404333

NO ICE AND IS MAKING FUNNY NOISE

I also have the same model as you. My problem with the ice maker has been build-up of ice under the cube pan which holds the crusher and cubes. ( I pulled the pan out and cleaned up the ice, pushed and re-seated the pan against the back of the freezer where it connects into the crusher motor). In a day or 2 it was working fine again. I got this problem because my son was pullying the pan out and emptying all the ice-cubes into his cooler for his bottles of water and soda., He was not pushing the pan back far enough to seat into the motor of the crusher and this left room for the ice to accumulate under the pan and pushing it forward away from the crusher motor which makes a loud noise when the pan is not seated correctly. There is another problem I had because the freezer was opened to often. The door dispenser became warm and the crushed ice accumulated in the dispenser and froze there, so if I opened the door, ice-cubes would fall out of the pan all over the floor. Also check the back of the pan where the crusher connects to the motor, mine was full of frozen moisture turned to ice which kept the crusher from seating properly. If this is not your problem then I would call a repairman as doing it yourself can be expensive because you may buy a part and then find out the old one was ok and it still doesn't work. Ice maker parts are very expensive .If you are positive that you know what is wrong then by all means fix-it. Also check your frozen food if it is frozen solid or soft, you may have a completely different problem than the ice-maker. Hope I helped some.
