The center piece that attaches to the capstan of our Polaroid DVD player has gone missing.(Model PDV-0700) I suspect that it came off when a DVD was removed, and probably ended up at the movie rental store. Needless to say it won't work. No one seems to have a replacement part for it. Polaroid says throw it out and buy a new one. I can fix just about anything, and will make a piece if I have to, as I hate throwing things out. Is something easily available to fix it. With thanks. Doug

The PDV0701A will not power on and screen is black . If you turn switch off white lines appear on screen as it turnes off . No sound and dics does not move . Please advise .
The problem of Polaroid DVD-players is too suggen cuttofs during playback. Usually there is no "low battery" warning 5 minutes before it just cuttofs. Usually it has 4 hours playback time.
Probably you need to replace the battery.

So I am guessing you have audio and no video, your monitor has went out. you can check and see if ribbon cable is slightly uplugged, but maybe just a bad monitor. These happen usually from a drop or hard hit to the unit.
