I have had and used a Coby MP300-2GB for over two years and never had a problem adding or deleting files. I used it everyday. But recently after syncing the selective files, when I tried to use it, it announced there were 'NO MUSIC FILES'. I plugged it in and checked its content using MY Computer and it had the normal file folder 'MUSIC' and its content reflected the chosen files yet the player did not recognize this. Have I lost the programming or drivers and how can I replace them?

You need to use the coby media manager to delete or upload file to your player. In BearShare, go to the File menu and select Explore Downloads, note where your files are, then go to the coby media manager to transfer them. Here is a link to the manual for your device:

Hi, what makes the files your trying to delete is not able to delete is, because the files your trying to delete has been affected by VIRUS and can be able to delete..

You will need to reset the Mp3 player .you can use the manual below for help

Instructions

For the mtv converter, Coby Media Manager must be installed .

1. Enter cobyusa.com as the address in Internet Explorer
2. Next select the Support link
3. Choose the fix for MP822 and follow the steps for the download of your operating system.
4. After the download, install the file for Coby Media Manager
5. Run Coby Media Manager: on page top in Tools > Device manager... select the MP610 in this converter.
6. Add the MP610 and click OK to setup this device
7. For the setup of the audio format added to the mtv video format, select DEVICE on the left side and next on the right side under MP610 select Device Configuration
8. For the MP610, under the tab [Output file format] the audio bitrate can be changed, the audio format is fixed MP3; the video format is fixed MTV; the image format is fixed JPG .

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio Books, etc. from MP3 Player
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. When you delete a folder from WMP library you will be prompted to confirm that action and given a choice to delete the Files within the folder only from the library or from the library and the computer.
Choose to delete only from the library and files will will not be deleted.

I agree with profalwg, use Windows Explorer. When you connect the player's USB cable to the computer, a window should open...click on the option to open with Windows Explorer. If you delete files and they still don't go away (happens sometimes) go into the player's Setup menu & change the USB setting to MSC. Doing this corrects 99% of player recognition problems. I had this problem, too. To fix it, I deleted all the files and folders, then loaded one small mp3 file, and that got it back to normal.
