What's the reason to cause the TV shows up only sounds but not pictures?

I may have a work around for you. I also have this model and the same problem. after trying many many sequences of turning on and off with setting changes I came across something that works for me 100% of the time. Turn off the tv. Place your left and right hand on the top corners of the tv. flex gently back and forth. turn tv on. this works for me. I can only say that this tv has some quality control issue(s). it will be my last Sharp product. this was a lowest bidder produced by a company other than Sharp with a Sharp label on it. good luck.

My toshiba 20as22 tv suddenly made a loud arcing sound and lost video and audio. when i unplugged and plugged it in again, it still made the arcing sound, what could be causing this ???
Your TV has developed a bad flyback transformer. You also will have a bad horizontal transistor. A bad picture tube can contribute to a stressed transformer and transistor. Another reason this TV is on the fritz, you have bad capacitors. Sometimes a bad capacitor will take down the most important ICs in a TV. I would not recommend a repair, as it will be to costly. Hi,
Question shows it is Vizio L32 lcd tv and symptom shows back light inverter board for defective for some reason and loud noise would be popping of any chip on inverter board.
Shopjimmy..com has replacement boards of that model on reasonable price and local tv repairman will replace defective board after checking/ testing the tv.

Sounds like a problem with your backlights. Could be the inverter, the CCFL's, the power supply board, or even the main board causing it.
But don't fret, this could be a very good opportunity for family bonding. I like to stand up in front of the TV and act like what should be showing on the screen for my family's viewing pleasure.

No picture but sound on panasonic plasma
Unplug the TV and disconnect any HDMI cables to the set. If the issue goes away there is a possibility that your HDMI source is causing the problem. Anything on the HDMI can cause odd problems with the TV since the serial data and serail clock lines are routed on HDMI. Those are the 2 commmunication lines used throught the TV for operation so anything HDMI that might load down one of those can cause issues.

Your question is very vague. The reason is that there are many components in a TV set that can cause no sound or picture.

The main thing that is in common is the main power supply. In your set, a failure of the horizontal scan amplifier will also cause no picture or sound, because its secondary side supplies power for most of the TV's operation.

Tv shows cloudy picture
What you said sounds like a focus problem. A focus proble is usually caused by a problem in the HV setion of the TV either in the IHVT or the HV transformer itself.
