When you save your document, are you saving as a normal document?
I have searched online and can find no mention of a .dop.
You could try Repair office, when you click uninstall it will give you the option to repair.

Cant open some of my downloaded file. need 2007 version

Hi, MS Word files have .doc extension (Word 97-2003 Format). Since launch of MS Office 2007, the files have the extension .docx. These files can be opened with earlier versions of MS Word (97, 2002, 2003 etc) by installing the compatibility pack, which is available at Microsoft Official Site. It is not at all necessary to Buy/ Install Office 2007 for opening such files. Visit the above link, download the compatibility pack/ converter and enjoy!
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya! CreativeTECH

Compatibility Pack for MS Office, doc to docx, ppt to pptx, xls to xlsx

This tip is all about the compatibility issues between the Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003 with Office 2007. Because all programs in Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003 used the old file extensions for its different programs. For example Word 2000 saved files with extension .doc, Excel 2000 with .xls and PowerPoint 2000 with .ppt. but on the other Office 2007 used the new file extensions for its different programs. For example Word 2007 saved files with extension .docx, Excel 2007 with .xlsx and PowerPoint 2007 with .pptx. Now the problem is that when you will try to open Office 2007 files into Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003 you will not open the file due to compatibility issues between both office versions (before 2007 and after 2007). Microsoft provides a free compatibility pack to convert Office 2007 documents to the Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003 format. There are many third party free converter are available but here we are using Microsoft office compatibility pack.

Please follow the given link to download free Microsoft compatibility pack -

Just install the compatibility pack after downloading........

Where is the add-in tab in MS Word 2007

0606ccmto2_illo1.jpg Macros and other extensions that use custom menus and toolbars will be less accessible to users in the new Office 2007 user interface. Shown above are a custom toolbar (with two buttons) and menu (with two commands) in Office 2003 (top), and their corresponding position in the Office 2007 Add-Ins tab after an upgrade (bottom).

When i receive Microsoft files with suffixes like .docx, .xlsx, .pptx am unable to open such documents in my laptop. What should i do / download to open these files. For your information i have Windows 7

MS Office 2003 and earlier will not read the old Doc extension files natively.

There are two possible solutions:

1. Upgrade your Microsoft Office to either the 2007 or the 2010 version.

2. Go to the MS web site and download a little program that will extend your MS Office to handle the new file extensions. See the link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en

In which we can open .docx files

You can open docx extension files only with MS Office 2007. If you wish to open it in earlier versions you have to save it again in compatible mode. Click on File (top left most corner with the logo), Save As, Word 97-2003 Document. Just using Save option will save your document as "docx" and not "doc" document.

My pc doesn't have misrosoft word..

MS Office will cost you money
If you need an office program for free; try Open Office, it is free
Note: when you save your files you can save them with MS Office extensions
the only problem is when you open the files the convert back to Open Office which changes the extension
when you save the changes, go to file/ save as, delete the .doc from the file name in the first box and change to MS Word to redo the extension
otherwise your changes won't be saved

Im using MS 2003... i just both this new pc for my house... my problem now we are using in the office MS 2007... all the my files now i cant open here in my house... i want to download MS 2007 to upgrade...

Office 07 default to 2 new extensions instead of the old .doc extension. 07 uses .docx or .docm (m is for documents containing macros).

If the document is just a standard one, you can go into file save as in 07 and save as.. 2000/03 compatible. 07 then saves the document with a .doc extension (this loses some of the nicer formatting 07 introduces but still looks ok). Then you can open the document at home.

If you cant rename the file as it is locked or something, then go here >

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA100444731033.aspx

And download the compatibility pack. This lets you open these .docx/m documents with 2000/03 office.
