Whirlpool dishwasher leaves white coating on plastic utensils like spatulas etcwhen finished washing. It also doesn't seem to clean a glasses and dishes as well as it used to. dishwasher is about 8years old, and has never given us any problems until now.

I understand you want to know how to clean your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# PLD2560LCC, as it is starting to leave white spots on your dishes. Please follow these simple instructions:

1. Load your clean dishes and glasses in a normal manner. Do not load any metal utensils or silverware.
2. Do not add detergent.
3. Select the NORMAL WASH cycle. Close and latch door. Press START/CANCEL pad.
4. Allow your dishwasher to run until it starts the second water fill (approximately 10 minutes). The SENSING light will be off.
5. Unlatch and open the door and pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the bottom of your dishwasher.
6. Close and latch the door and allow cycle to finish.

Note: If these conditions persist, a home water softener should be considered.

You could try adding vinegar to clean the white film off. If you wanted to be aggressive with it try using CLR to clean off the film from the dishwasher.

John, clean filters, add salt and rince aid and buy a bottle of dishwasher cleaner and run the cycle on the 70degree setting. Good luck!

Found lemi-shine at WalMart (it's next to the dishwasher detergent) and the white stuff is gone! no more residue and glasses sparkle again. When it is off, reach down around the base of the spray assy and run your fingers around the entire circular base where junk can get caught. I've found broken glass and plastic utensils. Why do some of us wash disposable utensils? Huh? You may find something like a piece of plastic, glass, or the like that is making the noise. Be careful not to cut yourself.

If this buzzying sound is not coming from the tub, and is actually below the tub and in front right side, it is most likely the electrical relay switch ( which can make that sound when it is straining or failing).
