How to solve horizontal lines on a CRT TV monitor and what could be the possible courses for it

Monitor horizontal lines problems usually caused by a defective vertical output/driver ic. A missing supply voltage to the vertical output ic may caused similar faults which is one horizontal line across the display. Dry joints and missing vertical output pulse from vertical oscillator ic also could contribute the same symptom. If you discovered that the protection resistor (usually from 1 to 4.7 ohm) open circuit or burnt, then replacing it won't solve the problem. The resistor burnt or open circuit was due to a short in the vertical output ic. Thus you have to replace the vertical output ic and the burnt resistor together before you switch on the monitor.

Don't have remote is there another way to line up colors I've already changed the convergence chips but not the resistors

Chances are the new ICs have failed since the 6.8 ohm resistors werent changed a phillips will almost always blow one or two of the 6.8 ohm resistors and if new ICs are installed without replaceing the resistors the new ICs are usually destroyed by the blown resistors. You will need the original remote or authorized replacement to adjust the convergence properly.

I changed my two IC chips and three resistances on my Hitachi TV to fix color alignments. Now the problems is that yellow and blue double image are seen at the bottom of my screen with no much effect on...

Ur tv still have dead resistors parts, test all 12 resistors parts around the 2 STK convergence ICS and changes some more dead resistors parts or changes all 12 resistors parts for sure.If tv still have the same problems after tested and replaces more resistors parts or all 12 resistors parts.Than some how when u handling and replacing the 2 STK convergence ICS and resoldering the 2 STK covergence ICS u short it out the 2 STK convergence ICS by resoldering without proper grounding ur self not to allow for static electricity to kill the 2 STK convergence ICS or u using a soldering iron to high of a wattage for doing soldering ICS work.

SanyoTV-blk screen w/thin line of light across screen great sound

Your Vertical Amp is probably Blown (bad) , but before you change that check all capacitors around the vertical amp IC and / or resolder resistors and diodes around vertical amplifier.
And NO it is NOT the Picture Tube
Good Luck

Vertically short picture

There is a bad capacitor in the vertical circuit. Look for caps in the same circuit and either check or change them. If hte vertical IC is listed as IC301 for example, the caps in the same circuit will be marked C3xx. These are circuit designations that are printed on the board. Look for caps with values of either 47ufd or 100ufd. These are the most common ones to fail.

Sony tv no picture only horizontal line

The probable defective part is the vertical IC. If changing that does not resolve the problem, check the capacitors in the same circuit. Also, check for the proper voltages at the vertical IC. If the IC is not being fed its power, it won't work either. I don't have a listing for your specific model. If you can post the vertical IC part number (LA7837 for example), I can list the voltages per pin.

Tv troubleshoot for me

chances are that IC804 has failed. You have two ICs that allow you to converge the three colors. IC804 is used for Red Horizontal and Vertical Convergence and also for Green Vertical Convergence. IC805 is used for Blue Horizontal and Vertical Convergence and also for Green Horizontal Convergence. These ICs run very hot and have a very high failure rate which sometimes will cause damage to resistors in their associated circuits. They are both STK-110 and it's best to replace them both at the same time. It's also a good idea to upgrade them to either STK-150 or STK-180. These will run a lot cooler than the STK-110.

Before replacement do inspect for any open or overheated resistors as I stated earlier. Being you only have problems with Red Convergence the plus and minus power supplies should be okay since they are common to both ICs.

Try www.tritronicsinc.com. They have the Hitachi CZ00433 (STK392-150) in stock for $20.11 ($32.43 retail). These are Hitachi OEMs. I've had very good results replacing STK392-110s with these chips. Do check for open or overheated resistors before replacing these chips

Vertical 1 line

Check voltage supply at vertical amp ic ,if present than change vertical amp ic.Some times supply line is dameged by faulty amp ic.therefore you have to rctify supply and replace ic.Check supply line fusible resistors.

Hitachi 65xwx20b convergence

Your message says you "replaced stk392-150", did you replace both of the stk`s or just one of them??? One is for RGB vertical the other is for RGB horizontal, you should always replace both stk`s as a set, Hitachi recommends you use a "replacement kit"
part number X480306", this kit includes both stk`s with a new & supposedly improved set of stk`s as well as all resistors that are required for proper set-up, they strongly recommend you change all of the parts in their kit. The only other thing besides IC`s & resistors that could cause your problem is:
1) bad dcu output (you need a scope to check this)
2) you`ve lost either the +15 volt line or the -15 volt line to the IC`s, "Fxxx" chemical fuse open in power supply.

No Picture On Screen and red line in middle.

The set has a vertical problem if the line you mention is from side to side ,if the line is from top to bottom the problem is in the horizontal circuit and both can be repairable,a vertical fairlure is a common problem, the vertical IC goes bad and it takes a safety resistor with him to prevent any more damage, the horizontal is rare but it happens too,if you are familiar with tv service you can change the IC but you will need a service manual to identify the part, you can get a manual overnight if you downloaded it at www.servicemanuals.net,if you are not too familiar you should seek the help of a servicer for safety reasons.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.
