The best fix, is to fix it properly. If faulty seat motor, replace it. If faulty wiring circuit or fuse, fix it. Sometimes if seat motor is ok, with use of wiring diagram for proper wiring colors, you can use jumper wires, voltage and ground, to move seat to wanted position.
Remove the seat from vehicle, see what is keeping seat from moving in direction that you want. If seat motor drive gear is keeping seat from moving, remove, then see if you can position seat where you want it, then, put everything back together.

Best bet is to give Graco a call. 800-345-4109 I have done it before, you just have to gauge that it looks right. Put on the cover, fit the top (head) part first, then make sure the sides are on good then the bottom (feet) then you need to pull the straps through the slits to cover the shoulders, slide on the chest buckle pieces. Do you still have your manual? I would expcet them to have a diagram of this. :)
